Similar to the work at Departure Bay, work is being done at Horseshoe Bay now as well. Berth 2 is now closed off, and a crane has been moved in. Bonus Picture: Queen of Cowichan

Horsehoe Bay has had berth clousers in past that seemed to not create a lot of problems (hold long weekends). The ships are supposed to be scheduled so there aren't three ships at one time in the shoulder and off seasons.

Night Work on Berth Project
Posted January 18, 2007
Horseshoe Bay TerminalAs part of a major upgrade and reconstruction of Berth one and Berth two at Horseshoe Bay terminal, some night work is required to complete the project by June, before the beginning of the 2007 summer schedule. In order to accommodate this tide and weather dependent work, West Vancouver’s Bylaw Services Department has approved an exemption to their Noise Control Bylaw that restricts work at night. This exemption allows the contractor Vancouver Pile Driving Ltd. to complete work such as welding and pouring concrete in pipe piles at low tide. No noisy work such as pile driving or concrete demolition will occur after hours. Up to an additional 24 nights of work will be required over the remaining six months of the project. Vancouver Pile Driving Ltd. will provide 72 hours notice to West Vancouver prior to commencing any after hours work. Every effort will be made by Vancouver Pile Driving Ltd. to minimize any noise impact during the night work. www.bcferries.com/schedules/notices/notice01180702.html
