There have been a couple of interesting sights at Buckley Bay lately. The Bowen Queen arrived two or three weeks ago, and according to a crewman on the cable ferry, the Quadra Queen II arrived later yesterday or perhaps overnight. Apparently, she'll be sitting there all summer, taunting travellers spending six or seven hours getting to or from Hornby. Or maybe BC Ferries will astonish us, and occasionally, when their traffic records predict, crew her and send her around Boyle Point to spend eight hours or so helping disperse four sailing waits to and from Gravelly Bay. One can dream. Well maybe you get what you wish for. The Quadra Queen II replaced the Connector with the 640a sailing this morning from Buckley Bay while they do unscheduled maintenance. Interesting.

Interesting. ...except the Quadra Queen II is just doing Buckley Bay to Denman. What Neil was dreaming about is a Buckley Bay to Hornby direct sailing on the Quadra Queen II. That would be his nirvana.

The Queen of Cowichan has been docked at Departure Bay for while, and is not on today's schedule, but has just gone out for a little toodle around the Strait.

I assume that part of her refit was being done in Nanaimo but that she has to go to Deas to get the rest done. Sometimes vessels have their entire annual refit take place while tied up at Berth One in Departure Bay.

Sea wolf is headed for Deas this morning. That must mean that the mighty Nimpkish is going back north to replace the Wolf.

I know when they re start Departure Bay-Horseshoe Bay they said they were gonna have 4 round trips per day. Well have to see how they structure the schedule. And which ships right now are at DB and HB that they have parked? Well I know CI is at Departure Bay but id assume theirs the Cowichan and Oak Bay too somewhere.

The Coastal Inspiration is out futzing around in Departure Bay. I don't know how else to describe it - right now she's slowly moving sideways. There's a couple of guys in a little orange boat out with her checking her out.
Edit: the Coastal Inspiration has gone out into the Strait for what appears to be a pleasant afternoon toodle.
