I think we should do a B-Class theme: Those were two terrific boats that will be missed by many. A flagship to honor those venerable Queens may be a nice sendoff for them... Keep in mind that you will choose the theme in a future segment, so you'll have your own exclusive time later. This one is for non-staff to suggest.☺

I don't think now is the time for another, though in the not to distant future it would be a good idea. I have a theme idea of going with big & small. I got a rather nice shot the other day of the SoVI (big) & Mayne Queen (small) at the south entrance to Active Pass. I will put that photo up on this forum in the next day or two. Anyways, I like the idea of big & small. Maybe we already did such not so long ago?

Shots of places like Sointula, Ganges, Vesuvius, Miners Bay, or 'downtown' Denman?

It would be limited to communities served by minor routes (BCF minor routes and mid-coast lifelines, WSF San Juan routes, and AMHS ports, other than Bellingham) Think "Coastal Communities Dependent on Ferries" (I know, that sounds political, but it's also reality) Let me know your thoughts on this, for those who participate in the flagships.

I think something along the lines of "Ferry terminal without a ferry" could be an interesting theme. The idea being to focus on elements of the terminal (the docks, ramps, control towers, holding lanes, trestles etc.) that make it possible for our ferries to operate.

We've done terminals at least once in the past, maybe more.

To keep the flagship process moving, I'd like to propose this "Voyager Choice" topic suggestion from recent weeks:
"Coastal Communities Dependent on Ferries" - Non-ferry, non-terminal photographs of communities that are served by life-line ferry routes.
Let me define the routes: - Most of BCF routes (but not mainland major routes, not Langdale, not Powell River (too large), not Saanich Inlet). - Skidegate or Alliford Bay (but not Prince Rupert) - WSF San Juan routes, but not Sidney - Alaska routes, but not Bellingham or Prince Rupert - BC Central Coast route (Bella Bella, Shearwater, Ocean Falls, Bella Coola)
Let me suggest some example scenes: - Downtown, village core - Landmarks associated with the community - Rural scenes typical of that community - Streetscapes (lots of possiblities. Keep good-taste in mind, and respect peoples' privacy as much as possible)
---------- No one has objected to this topic idea, so I propose that we go ahead. If you like another idea better, do not worry. We will have more voyager-choice topics in the coming months. - I will set up a formal nominations page later this weekend.

I had an idea since I will be traveling in Europe this summer - foreign ferries! I'm sure many of you may have some interesting shots that could grace our masthead. This would be held later in the year. Thoughts anyone???

I will be in Greece this summer doing some island hopping and we're very excited to have the Blue Star Ferries experience. I'm sure I will return with lots of photos.

This would be held later in the year. Thoughts anyone??? We did a foreign ferry theme before (it's been a number of years now), so I would not be opposed to doing it again, although we have had a lot of themes more recently that are more open ended to allow for ferries other than the typical ones we see around here. When it's my turn to pick a theme, I usually try to go with something that has a broader definition to allow entries from other places. For example, the theme we just voted on could have had ferries from anywhere in the world.

When was the last time we did a "when ferries meet" theme?

Dig back at least 5 or 10 years in your archives, although EGFleet would probably kick our butts on this!
