I will be on Coastal Renaissance's 10:30 am sailing From Departure Bay and the 12:30pm sailing from Horseshoe Bay on Sunday March 9 weather permitting. I would go on Saturday but there is no transit bus back to Parksville on Saturday nights after 6:24pm. Anyone who wants to are welcome to join me.

I'm thinking of going over on the 12:30 sailing from HB on March 8 and returning on her first sailing at 3 that afternoon. Anyone else?

I'd like to try and be on the actual inaugural sailing of the CR on Saturday the 8th. So like cohocatcher, I'd go over to Departure Bay on the 12:30pm sailing, watch the vessel switcheroo, and return on the Coastal Renaissance. But I'm not sure if I'll definitely be on this trip. I'm going to try and leave this day free.

I will try to be on this trip (3:00PM from Departure Bay.. if this actually is the inaugural sailing) as well. Like I mentioned in another thread, it would be neat to take the Queen of Esquimalt on what could be her last day of service, but unfortunately it's kinda hard to get from Duke Point to Departure Bay unless you're willing to fork over a rediculous amount of money for a 15 minute taxi ride.

Looks like I will try and be on the 3pm sailing out of Departure Bay then either return on the 5pm or the 9pm.

I wouldn't miss this for the world, but the old folks are giving me the "maybe."
So, I'll play it by ear and see how it pans out. I'll do my best to keep Sunday free.
My itinerary would be the 12:30 sailing over and the 3 sailing back, with everyone else.

Where was it posted CA will enter service March 8? No official announcement. . .we're somewhat jumping to conclusions here. Here's what we know: - RBI shows the Queen of Cowichan doing the morning shift on March 8, and CR starting with the 3pm sailing from Dep Bay on March 8
- Queen of Cowichan starts on Route 30 with the 515am sailing from Duke Point on Sunday March 9
- Queen of Coquitlam is scheduled to remain on Route 3 through March 15, so there's no other vessel to take the place of the Queen of Cowichan when it moves to Route 30 for March 9
These observations have lead us to believe that the first sailing is 3pm on Saturday March 8th. No idea when an official announcement will come though.

And the BCFS is taking reservations for the CR from DPB to HSB for the 3 p.m. sailing on Saturday March 8.

You mean DPB to HSB, right? There is no DKP to HSB route.

Yup. That's correct. Sorry about any confusion.
And is DKP Duke Point?

And the BCFS is taking reservations for the CR from DPB to HSB for the 3 p.m. sailing on Saturday March 8. Yep, if RBI shows that it's sailing then they're also taking reservations for it. I may be heading over to Victoria on Friday March 7th to visit some cousins. If so, I'm hopefully going to be able to make arrangements to catch the inaugural sailing home. . .will keep you posted. You bet it is.

wow I'm an idiot... it's on a Saturday.
Unfortunatley, I have courses that need to be tended to that morning... earliest I'll be able to make it to Horseshoe is 3 pm.
so that day, I'll probably shoot for the 3 and return on the 5, going both ways on the CR, unless something comes up.

Looks like I am able to make the 3pm out of Departure Bay. Probably hang around HSB and wait for her to return for the 9pm sailing.
