Who's interested in doing a return trip on the Queen of Richmond, on April 1st?
The RBI says that she's on Route-13 for that day.
This is a good opportunity to ride a ship that some of us haven't yet experienced, and time is running out on us having these old Spauldings in our BC Fleet.
Let's meet at the north dock for Route-13, on April 1st, for the 10:00am sailing.
Who's in? Mac, I hear there's a pop-machine on board.....

I certainly am, although I would need to take my personal submarine across to Langdale first.

Warning the soft ice cream machine on the Richmond is on the blink. Well that figures. Everytime I've taken the Lulu-Queen, that machine has been on the fritz...

Was onboard the Queen of Richmond today. She is probably in the best condition of all the V class vessels. Thankfully they have maintained one of the sisters at a top condition

I'll see if I can join you guys on this event for a change. I have a customer that is moving that day, and with any luck, I can get this to be a work related trip. I'll have to call BCFS and see if I can get a commercial vehicle reservation.
PS: I don't think that I'll have the truck completely full with this move, does anyone else have any stuff they need hauled either way on Rte-13? I hope I can get my unload done and back for the last sailing of the day and do a rounder on the ole Richmond. It'll be interesting to see if they ever got that rattle out of her rear end of not, and the original Dogwood carpet (tm) will be well worth the $13++

I will absolutely be there, could care less about the free pop (seriously). Which side should we all meet up at? DBP or Langdale? I may even get an HD camera to get some nice video of her.

I'm looking forward to this trip. I've never been on the Queen of Richmond before, and have been curious to see what it's like to be on the stern loading/unloading V-Class. That proper bow sure will screw things up on the weekends, for the extra loading/unloading time.

Sounds like fun! I'll be taking the Queen of Slurry over on the 7:20, then chilling in Gibsons for a bit, then I'll join you guys for a lovely trip on the Queen of Richmond. I'm looking forward to the Brunch Buffet, I've heard the food is better than on the Spirits!
Afterwards we can all take a trip back to Horseshoe Bay on the Coastal Rennaisance and end it off with fish and chips at Troll's
;D ;D ;D

Which side should we all meet up at? DBP or Langdale? Scott was going to rent a passenger van, so some of us might get picked up by him. I think that he's started a facebook group to organize the pickups. If you have access to a van too, you might want to start a similarly sounding facebook group too, to get more people into your van. Either way, we can all meet on the ferry. Nelly is going to determine the exact staging point.

Warning the soft ice cream machine on the Richmond is on the blink. Well that figures. Everytime I've taken the Lulu-Queen, that machine has been on the fritz... It was working at one point, but apparently the crews' machine gave out, so they stealthily swapped machines. If you ask, and offer a small bribe, they may be inclined to provide you with a cone from their machine. On another note, I heard the QoR will be guaranteed to be 100% bacteria free for this special trip...

As Mike mentioned, I have rented a 14 passenger van from Budget for the day... Who else is going to meet us at Langdale for this trip..? Sorry Scott: Mac offered me a case of Mountain Dew and a bag of Doritos if I committed to his van group for that trip. I accepted, even though I had to pay a $50 fee to join his group. He is naming his van group " The Scott Van Group"...hopefully no one will be confused by the name that's similar to your name. But I'll still see you other guys on the ferry. We can meet at the forward lounge. Here's a question, as I've never been on the 'Richmond before: Has she been stretched and/or lifted, like some of her seven sisters? I've lost track of all the modifications to the "Exciting Eight" over the years. One other thing: after the April 1st trip, I'd really like for some people to post photos of the group trip & ship, here in this thread. I'm sure that some of you can come up with some pictures. As Karl would say: " Gonna be awesome!!!"

Hey! As luck would have it, I will be getting as far north as Seattle on March 31 for a meeting, and I have nothing on my calendar for April 1 that can't be moved to another day later in the week. So, as long as I am halfway there, I might as well come all the way up the next day. Anything for a group ride to see the 'ol Queen of Richmond again. Since this sounds like it's gonna be the biggest forum event ever held, I can't justify NOT showing up for this trip after spending so much time reading posts here on the forum and getting to know everybody. I could go alone. But to make it better, maybe we could even set up a carpool coming up from the Seattle area for this event, if there's enough interest. And, if anyone has a van available, would you mind if I get a ride with you? I really shouldn't be driving that far in one day. Just some thoughts. But count on me to be there! This is a "can't miss" trip!
