I will have to say PC. Even though I hate Microsoft I think that it is a lot more functional then a MAC for example a lot of games will only work on a PC, and for word editing business like things a PC is better, that is without Vista .

MAC all the way! Unless you're into gaming (and I know a lot of people are), I find Apple products to be much easier, and more intuitive to operate than their PC counterparts. There's a lot more software available for the Apple OS than there used to be, including Microsoft Office, so no more excuses for not being able to open that Excel or Word document on a Mac. As an added bonus, if you really need to have a Windows operating system for some PC-only program(s), Apples now have that duel boot feature (Boot Camp) which allows you to install Windows (XP or Vista) in its own partition and run it natively, so you can effectively own a PC with BOTH operating systems on it. Of course, it you are using your computer for gaming, you'll still want a PC. This is the only arena that Apples are not good at.

A buddy of mine recently built himself a "hackintosh" - a home-brew PC that he installed OSX on - and found that XP actually ran faster inside a Virtual PC session on OSX, than it did booting straight into XP. He figures it was mostly due to OSX's better memory and thread handling...

Captain Pickard:
#1 here, and I use a PC. I've never tried or used a Mac.
I use a PC both at home, and at work.
and here's more info than you wanted: at home, I got my first computer in 1991 (a 386), and replaced computers in 1997 and 2004.

You all should take the jump to Mac. I'll say this, if apple did not switch to intel two years back, I would have never switched. Since then they have become a versatile do everything computer, games , work and entertainment, etc. . . and hey, they invented iPhone. So "think different".

Im a cross user but mainly mac, I got my MacMini G4 back in August three years ago before the switch to Intel, I am looking to probably upgrading to a white iMac refurbished due to the aluminum glossy screen is way too reflective (why can't they put that on windows so it is not like a fish bowl?)

No need to pay exorbitant prices for a Mac to avoid Windows if you use Linux.

It's good to be back, I've always read the posts on this forum and seen the changes, I just haven't posted frequently in ages.

I use a PC but have used Mac's. I guess I'm so used to the Windows interface, I just get lost using a Mac... can't stand them.

I have two Mac's in the basement if anyone wants them. Along with a non pentium PC, and two older Pentium PC's. Been intending on delivering them to one of the programs that recycle computers. The monitors for the MAC's weigh as much as a VW or so it seems. So no big guess that I have a PC laptop and desktop.

I have a Windows Vista PC... god I hate it. I find Mac's user interface much simpler and fewer things can go wrong.
I'm not sure if any others out there use Windows Vista... maybe it's just me? Perhaps a gig of RAM isn't enough to run Vista.
If I had a choice between the two I'd choose a Mac, so that's what I voted for. The problem with Macs is that they are so bloody expensive...

I have Vista and for the most part don't notice any difference running it versus previous versions. I have 2GB of RAM mind you with a 1.73GHz processor. Most of my problems are more to do with my router and my wireless network at home.

I don't think Vista is that bad except for the fact that most things won't work with it that work with XP, mouse, keyboard, joystick etc. Also, there are a lot of problems with games and them requiring a lot higher system specs then with XP.

Here's a neat little app for the Mac I enjoyed using about a couple of decades ago:
Wished they have update versions of this for today's PCs and Macs!
