Good Evening folks, I just got home a few minutes ago after a day trip over to Horseshoe Bay and back from Departure Bay. I went over on the Queen of Oak Bay's 8:30am sailing and returned on the Coquitlam's 12:30 or I should say 12:50 sailing. The Reason for the trip is that I wanted to get some photos of the Coastal Renaissance in berth 2 at DB which I did. I am way to tired to spend the time to upload them now, I have had no sleep at all last night and I left home at 06:15 this morning. Anyway I love the new Departure Bay terminal. It will even be better once the new pre-board waiting room is built. We got into HB at around 10:10am using berth 3 both the Oak Bay and Coquitlam. Capilano was using berth 2 and Surrey Berth 3, her normal berth. Berth 1 is been worked on. I found passenger and vehicle traffic to be realy light with tons of seats vacant and I did not even have to wait in the cafeteria line for breaky. I will explain in more detail when I upload my picts hopefully tomorrow morning. Before I sign off, I found it interesting that the Renaissance is sitting in berth 2 with her Horseshoe Bay end towards the dock.

Are there any improved viewing areas at the new terminal?

Not realy as of yet, mind you they have torn down the old cafeteria which gives you a clear view, However they are building a new waiting room see picts below: Queen of Oak Bay with torn down waiting room view from inside the Food Court note reflections of Ferry in window It is a pain in the but because they have a make shift stairs leading up to the Walk Way and when you have slow seniors walking off the ferry it slows down everyone. I will post more picts later

Okay I have returned home from town and hear are more picts. Coastal Renaissance Oak Bay/Renaissance Arriving in the Gap on Coquitlam Wear and Tear on Oak Bay (one seat in fact torn not shown) What the heck is this? Oak Bay Oak Bay lv HB Coquitlam at DB Coquitlam arrive b3 H Cowichan Surrey One last for now: Coquitlam Sun deck Apparantly the Cowichan takes over for the Coquitlam 3pm today, Nov 17 You can plainly see the stain on the seats on the Oak Bay, the question is what kind of condition will they appear in about 5 years? I remained at Horseshoe Bay between sailings just taking pictures and went for a coffee at the coffee shop directly across from the terminal. It is very cold at this time of the year and I am thank full for the nice warm waiting rooms at HB. ***Edited to get rid of sidescrolling due to no space between text/photo

Nice photos corporalrabbinoff. I especially like the funnel comparison between the Renaissance and Oak Bay.
