A bit off topic, but has anyone played Sim City 4 with the Rush Hour expansion pack? It's been out for about a year I think, but I only got it recently. It's pretty basic, but a neat new dimension to the game. There's also a elevated rail system and a monorail system in the ruch hour expansion pack.

It's a really intresting game Sim City. All types of transportation and buildings very good if I ever get the game i'll make a Vancouver type city with a giant river for the Strait of Georgia and put the citys Nanaimo and Victoria in and make a ferry service to the places. Very intresting game though from Will Wright the guy who brought you The Sims and more Sim City titles for the computer and Super NES

I was planning on getting Sim City 4 ever since last summer but I think I should get off the computer more (AND I recently got the game "X" Plane). I have the 3000 Sim City however. Just figured out how to turn a profit in the game so I ain't that intrested in getting a new one yet. Heres my strategy: don't build police stations, fire stations, schools or hospitals in the beginning. Wait until your making enough money to fund them. ;D

Oh ya, I was working on a nice Nanaimo terrain for the game as well. I was working on it when I had to use the old computer (mine was SEVERELY attacked by a virus) so games were too slow. It's been ready for a while and I can't wait to start playing it on the new computer (mid-March). It's coastline runs from Nanoose Bay to just south of Duke Point. Everything between is on there excluding Gabriola Island. Mountains in the back and everything. I used a paint program, not the built-in editor, so if you own the game visit this link for more information on easy and effective map-making: simcity3000unlimited.ea.com/us/guide/index.phtml?frame_src_content=tips/ .

On Simcity 4 the ferry only just touches the terminal then takes off! Is it supposed to do that? Anyway, I was thinking for the next expansion they should introduce a number of ferries to use and select your route (maybe the Quinsam BC Ferry, Mayne Queen and the Vancouver seabus, plus put them into country ferry folders, e.g Canada, plus have maybe more bridges and select your train and bus routes, have toll booths to make the mysims pay and show the amount of money they should see.

try slowing the speed to 1x and then it might not do the touch off thing.

I tried that, although it would be nice to have a variety of ferries, wouldn't it?

well, when I put the speed onto >>> then the ferry waits at the terminal, but why do the cars disappear at the T junction?!
For the next ad-on pack, the ferry should show signs of loading/unloading, there should be a variety of ferries, and the ferries should be sorted into country groups (Canada, U.S.A, UK, France) making the select a ferry item come up when the ferry terminals are active and being used. You should be able to select you transportation routes too (excluding cars and trucks>.

ok, but you cannot have a ferry service to Nanaimo because the two ferries are only minor vessels.
Simcity 4's next expansion pack or Sim City 5 should have a variety of ferries and should allow you to build under bridges, also the ability to make your ferry, train and bus routes.
And what about footbridges.

No, if you make your own routes it just gets messed up, but there should be different capacity car terminals and each one should have a differnets ship.

what I meant, select your ferry route, like transport tycoon, maybe have bus and train services like that too.
With Transport Tycoon you can build a vessel, train or road vehicle (even airplanes) can have their selected route just by clicking on a terminal, train station or bus station.
