I thought I'd seek your help for this one. One of my local radio stations played this song several weeks ago and it caught my ears. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to identify this song because all I could record was the end of it with no lyrics. Have any of you heard this song before, and if so, what is it called? www.zshare.net/audio/44730322910610/

That is a well known song Dave. It will come to me as the tune bounces around my head today. Someone closer to my age will remember it as it was a popular song. At least the original version. This one seems to be cover version or by someone else.

"Hold on" by Santana. Here's a YouTube link: ......a good mind-bender of me hearing, humming, and then having the phrases "hold on" & "pretending" & "living without you" come to mind. The rest is thanks to Google.

Santana?!?! Well I would never have figured that out! And as it turns out, that's a cover of a song originally recorded by Ian Thomas (brother of SCTV's Doug McKe... I mean Dave Thomas).

You beat me Flug and thanks! The tune has been humming in my head ever since I played it earlier. Part lyrics and vague recollections. It may have come to me when I was in bed supposed to be sleeping or in the shower in the morning. But in the meantime drive me nuts It is one of those songs you can't help but tap your toe. A nice driving song too. *OK now I feel old. Ian Thomas and Lighthouse were the bands at the first two "dances" at school when I moved to Toronto. Can't remember now which was first and second. "Dance" because the guys stood around in groups of 5 or so until the girls came and dragged a victim onto the dance floor.
