It's a crying shame that a beautiful ship such as the Mona Lisa has to secumb to Alang! Damn SOLAS Reg's

YES!!! I completely agree. SOLAS regulations are way too extreme to be doing any good. The safety of a vessel is much more dependent on the training and skills of the crew. I have always wondered why SOLAS is so important when both Canada and the USA allow so many ships to be flagged in third world nations and crews with unknown training and skills. BTW: Up here in Alaska we have two AMHS vessels that are non SOLAS equipped and they frequently sail the most risky route from Skagway to Bellingham. Another sad sad story............ Have any readers been following the sad last saga of the SAGA ROSE?
