Yeah, riding the buses has been a hobby of mine since I was old enough to get on the bus by myself. I'm probably going to miss some here, since I have often taken a local bus in a city just to see the place as the locals might see it. Seattle AreaAt one point, many years ago (like the early 1980's), I had been on every Metro Transit route, every Community Transit route, every Everett Transit route, and most of Pierce Transit. (Sound Transit was not an entity then, but I do see a lot of those routes that were once Metro routes.) I have been on about half of the current Sound Transit, though, including both Sounders & Link. Portland Area- I have been on every mile of all of Tri-Met (including MAX light rail and WES rail).
- The only C-Tran (Vancouver WA) routes I'm missing is a couple of the commuter runs that only go once or a few trips per day.
Rest of Washington- I had been on every mile of Spokane Transit, as it existed 1985-1989.
- All of Pullman Transit (I attended WSU).
- Kitsap Transit: Once RT on the 90.
- Pacific Transit: Astroia to Ilwaco, Ilwaco to Long Beach.
- Whatcom Transit: Several local routes in Bellingham over the last decade.
- Jefferson Transit: I spent most of a day riding around on buses a couple of days before a job interview in Port Townsend last year.
Rest of Oregon- All of the routes of the following, at one point or another in the past:
- Umpqua Transit (Roseburg)
- Sunset Transportation District (Astoria & North Coast)
- Salem-Keizer Transit (Cherriots!)
- A major chunk of the routes on Lane Transit District (Eugene)
- At least once on: Albany Transit, Corvallis Transit, Sandy Transit, Wilsonville SMART.
Other PlacesVancouver: Original SkyTrain, 98-B, 99-B, 10, (many times each) and a handful of routes once. Trains/Subways in Chicago, New York, Washington, SFO. Amtrak Coast Starlight, Empire Builder, Cascades. Buses in a handful of cities -- I have taken one somewhere in a lot of places just to say I have and to look around. Greyhound is a dog of a way to travel, but I have spent many hours going to a lot of places on it, usually just for fun. That includes the 15-day pass I used to circle the US a few months after finishing high school. What a blast at the time! What a horror it would be now! And, yes, I have likely missed a lot. (I never even thought about the Monorail or the SeaTac subway, for example.) But a cool trip down memory lane.....
