Merry Christmas everybody! I've only been a member here for a few months, but I've learned a lot, and certainly plan to stay for awhile. Perhaps I'll meet some of you in-person in 2011. Merry Christmas to all! Let's hope Santa drops a load of complimentary boarding passes down our chimneys tonight The keys to the QPR, so we can take her for a spin, would be acceptable too. ;D

I found my BC Ferries Christmas Poem again!
A little christmas poem
T'WAS the night before CHRISTMAS and all through the fleet The ships were tied up, every sailing complete All the stockings were hung by the funnels with care In the hope that Saint Nicholas soon would be there Then to what the crews' amazement appeared But a miniature sleigh and eight tiny reindeer The jolly old driver looked kind of distressed In fact this old Santa seemed downright depressed "I'm looking for help," he said to the crew "My reindeer are tired and my sleigh's broken too To get to the islands, there's only one way I hope BC Ferries can help save the day"
The crew said, "Okay, we can sure island-hop But we think your request should go straight to the top" As I and the missus were getting ready for bed The crew phoned are home about the man dressed in red "Of course we'll help out," said I to the crew "It's customer service, the least we can do!" Soon they were busy delivering toys For our men and our women it brought so much joy And througout the islands, what a wonderful sight
As the SPIRIT OF CHRISTMAS sailed through the night.

I would like to wish all a happy and a Merry Christmas.
To all here in the State of Washington, up in British Columbia, down to Oregon and California, west to Hawaii and the Asian countries, the land down under, across up and down and to the east coast of the continents of the Americas, Great Britain, France, Germany, and everywhere in between that's covered by the worldwide web, may your Christmas day be a happy one.
Merry Christmas, all!

My source, BC Ferries Dolphin Newsletter December 1998 I know you've been on the SOVI a few times over the past few days, Karl. Apparently theres only one Christmas tree? Every night I've been seeing her glide into Swartz Bay with white Christmas lights lined up along her passenger decks. Everytime I saw that, it reminded me of this "Spirit of Christmas" Poem. I guess the SOBC can make up for the lack of interior decorations, since she has no outside lights. Here's a pic of the "Spirit of Christmas" preparing for her 7:00pm sailing at Swartz Bay last night. The extent of the Skeena Queens decorations

Best of the Season to all WCFF members; those I have met and traveled with, and those with whom I may some day do so. My current sig; photo taken this morning during Christmas brunch... May 2011 bring you all 'ferry-ily' pleasant journeys ...

Yeah I was on the SOVI again on the 24th and she still only has one Christmas Tree onboard and a few little lights in the Cafeteria that is about it. But then again the Celebration only has one tree right by the Chief Stewards office. I noticed the last time I saw the Mayne Queen she had a little tree on top her bridge too!

We put up our holiday decorations this weekend. My tree made the trek down here to Gig Harbor this year (when I moved), and now proudly stands in the new living room. So, without further adieu, Merry Christmas, everyone! And, keeping in true ferry-fan form, I do have the requisite ferry ornaments on the tree. Here are a few of them:
