I'm not so sure about the TSA ferries, even with binos or a telescope they'd just be little white dots on the horizon. I wouldn't be surprised if we could be the HSB ferries though. Maybe I could pose as some professional photographer to get onto one of those penthouse decks for some 'photos of the city' so I could check out the view.

Coming into Victoria harbour on the MV Coho, we passed the coast guard station. - note the ship mural on the building. Note the lack of paint on the Laurier, down near the waterline. Up north, rust isn't the big issue, it's sea ice scraping all the paint off your ship's hull. Also, here's a close-up of that mural, taken from the Pacific Swift last summer. It's the CCGS Sir James Douglas. www.ccg-gcc.gc.ca/eng/CCG/USQUE_Sir_James_Douglaswww.ccg-gcc.gc.ca/eng/Ccg/usque_Ship_Details

Here's a Rte. 2 timelapse. I don't remember this one being posted yet. I'm assuming this is aboard the Queen of Cowichan, since the Coquitlam tends to stick to rte. 3.
Then there's this one, aboard a Spirit, on rte. 1:

Cool photo of Delta Port at night Here are some San Juan Islands scenery as seen from M/V Hyak on August 25th. Looking back at Rosario Strait and Anacortes from Thatcher Pass Lopez Sound, just on the west side of Thatcher Pass. M/V Yakima can be seen in the distance. We passed this very interesting boat off Upright Head on Lopez Island, near the Lopez ferry terminal Entrance Mountain, in front, and Mt. Constitution behind (both are on Orcas Island)

Various pics taken from the 6:00pm SOBC sailing on Sept. 3, 2011: [ It looks like your SOBC is approaching Swartz Bay from the usual departure-lane. Interesting and unusual occurrence, likely because of tides (showing that I've read the various comments from others about tide-based route decisions). ;D ========== Late Edit: - the reason for this approach was because the SOBC was docking at Swartz Bay's berth-2.
