This is a photo from the recent Galiano trip back in May. To commemerate (sp?) the last summer of the V class, the Queen of Vancouver passing through Active Pass. As taken from the Bluffs lookout.

I decided to change mine around as well..... This one features a researched photo of Bob Swansons whistle farm at Nanaimo Lakes. Then there's a photo of the Coastal Renaissance on the right, which means that Bobs whistles are being used to this day, on the Coastals. Bob Swanson is the founder of Airchime horns, which is based out of Surrey BC. He also built the "Oh Canada" horns which were once on top of the BC Hydro buidling for Canadas confederation. The horns were later moved to the roof of Canada Place, which play the first 4 chords of "Oh Canada" everyday at Noon. Anyways, clicking on the photo will link you to a recording of the Coastal Inspirations E diminished chord horn at Tsawwassen.

My new sig picture is actually eight individual pictures stitched together. I took it when some tugs were out pulling the Nanaimo around in the drydock.

That truly does make for a unique view of the Nanaimo not in her usual setting.

Finally I have a signature picture. I took 5 pictures of the Coastal Celebration as I was arriving at Departure Bay on her sister the Coastal Renaissance.
I used a stitch program to create the one image.
Since I was shooting from a moving platform and not using a tripod, the Celebration parts are not totally in proportion. However, it will do for now until I get something better.
Fullsize it is more than 7,000 pixels in width.

That picture looks fine cohocatcher. I like how it is kind of a fisheye, and the only distortion I can see is the hull in the middle but it takes a good hard glance to notice it. I had the same problem as you with my sig. It was about 6300 pixels and when you reduce the size Photoshop sometimes creates cracks I find.

Seeing as the Powell River Queen just got back from a refit I thought it would be appropriate to put this picture up which was taken just after her refit last year.

Sometimes I just get a naughty thought that makes me laugh for a bit. Like, I'll probably wait until the end of time before a banner theme month comes up where this one would qualify! Huh? OK, so it made me laugh for a second. I'll get tired of it in a few days and put a ferry pic back there.......

New Signature. OK, I know I'm a week early, but I guess I just couldn't wait ;D Seeing as it is summer, I thought I would celebrate the flagship vessels of the WSF fleet. So, I give you M/V Wenatchee basking in the summer sunshine.

OK - in light of the new signature posting rules, I'm going through all of my signatures and re-doing them. Here's the first one - SOVI out in the Strait or Georgia: I have a new folder on my Photobucket Page called Signatures. This is where all of my new signatures will be going. At some point, I will delete my Banners folder. s238.photobucket.com/albums/ff181/bswanplsbo/Signatures/

New Signature. I know, it's not anywhere near the end of the month yet, but I just created this one, and I really like it, so I'm pulling SOVI out early, and putting my new MV Coho pic in its place.

I have finally gotten around to resizing my signature picture to meet the new forum regulations. As many others have done, I have taken the opportunity to switch pictures. So, to commemorate the Queen of Tsawwassen's retirement, here's a shot of her from the group trip to Galiano back in May.

The Hiyu was the last remaining WSF ferry that I had not met face to face. Sadly, due to circumstances, I could not go for a ride on her. That still leaves me with three active boats I have not been on -- the Hiyu, the Chelan, and the Puyallup. I'll get there.........
