Nice pictures! Thanks for posting. That's an interesting propulsion concept... what is the advantage of that over twin pods or a voith schneider?

The advantage is efficiency and speed. Voith propulsion is not efficient for speed and twin props make the hull shape and propeller size not as good as possible, also the drag of the V brackets and shafting does not help. The other advantage is propeller loading, as one propeller is not acceleration the water stream, with Crp this is done over 2 props. And then finally maneuverability, as the aft prop is a azimuth thruster. If you google wartsilla and CRP they have some good downloadable files. The power is reduced by about 15% over a conventional system. (this ferry is claiming 30% and they may be right) Thanks oceaneer
