For the month of September, I'd like to see nominations for banners of the V-Class. This will be in honour of a set of sister ships that are all about to become history. The Queen of Victoria and Esquimalt have already been scrapped, and the Queens of Vancouver and Saanich are not far behind (within a couple of weeks of their scrapping in Mexico). The V-Class served primarily on the Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay run from the early 60's until 2009 when the Queen of Vancouver was the last one to be retired. Lets pay tribute to these vessels that served the BC Ferries fleet so well for so many years.
The vessels of the V-Class include only:
Queen of Victoria Queen of Vancouver Queen of Saanich Queen of Esquimalt
The photo can be from any point in time. Preferably I'd like to see pictures featuring the vessel(s) itself, but I'll accept any sort of creative points of views (closeups of the funnel, bridge, liferings, etc) as long as there's some indication that it is one of said vessels mentioned above.
I think we need to also dedicate the September's Flagship to the Route 1 crews at Tsawwassen and Swartz Bay as a thank you for their accomodation, especially during the final months of service with the Vancouver and Saanich. And thank you to BC Ferries for allowing our members to attend all of the decommissioning ceremonies.
Now that we are entering the final chapter of the V-Class vessels, I think we all can feel proud of the exceptional job we have all done documenting these vessels for posterity. Their memory will continue to live on in us and through us in our conversations, discussions, photography and videography.

Scott, I really like that second photo that you added to the voting ballot. Crowds of people outside enjoying the day, and very nice colour & composition. I like that 'sunny day' effect, I think it's a good way to remember our Queen of Vancouver.
