Queen of Surrey departing Langdale's berth-1. - Morning on September 18, 2012. - Vantage point is the public wharf at Hopkins Landing (nice location for these types of photos, but really tough to find parking nearby - I parked at the top of the hill by the postal-boxes). ============== VIDEO of her passing my view www.facebook.com/v/10151138421193647

Photos of the Queen of Surrey's deck 3/4 ramp in action. Berth 1 had to be unexpectedly taken out of service for some reason, so for the second last and last dockings of the night at Langdale, berth 2 had to be used. I took lots of photos to document this rare event, so my apologies if they seem repetitive. Deck 4, Deck 3: What the ramp looks like from behind: It can be lowered towards either end of the ship. So the ramp is double ended ;D The Queen of Surrey then did a quick trip on route 9 (Tsawwassen-Southern Gulf Islands) after the service day on the HSBay-Langdale route.

I have all ways wondered, how much extra time is required to unload the Cs when they use this ramp?

Queen of Surrey departed Deas just before 1900 and is currently sailing northbound in the strait bound for Langdale.

Why is she coming back so soon? I thought her refit is done by March 25, 2013.

I've decided to do some YouTube videos showcasing various routes in the BC Ferries system.
Here is Route 3, as shot from the Queen of Surrey:
