:)Congratulations to Scott for his very good shots of Mayne Queen as well as the many other recent samples of his work around the fleet, including his tromp thru the weeds around Deas dock, a treck which I used to enjoy when I was more mobile! mrdot.

I would not mind the seating in the saddle lounge.

I would not mind the seating in the saddle lounge. You're kidding. If I were stuck on those seats for hours on end on a regular basis, I would need a personal chiropractor.

That is true. They are better than the last seats they had on her. At least they have padding on them. What I dont get is why they dident go with the seats like they have on the Bowen Queen?? I was on the Mayne Queen Saturday night and I had the whole saddle lounge to myself. It is nice when there is nobody down there!

Mayne Queen, as seen from the Queen of Nanaimo, in late afternoon on November 12, 2012. In Navy Channel Turning into Village Bay Straight on, so you can see right through the lounges. What an interesting ship, with all the various decks accessible to passengers. I got this photo before they started to shut the lounge window-blinds.

Here are a couple of photos of the Mayne Queen departing Fulford Harbour. .......wait, what? Yup, that's the Mayne Queen alright. Today she was asked to make an extra stop at Fulford Harbour on her way back to Swartz bay from Saturna Island I believe. This was around 1:30pm, a matter of 20 minutes before the scheduled departure of the Bowen Queen at 1:50pm. Traffic was so heavily backed up today that they needed the extra help on that run, largely due to a large amount of paving trucks going back and forth. The afternoon crew waiting for the Bowen to arrive were puzzled to see the Mayne in dock and loading traffic just 15 minutes after the time that the Bowen would have departed Swartz Bay. Travellers who were showing up just as the Mayne was leaving were also puzzled and were pulling out their schedules to see if they had their times mixed up. Wow. One of the best photos ever seen on this forum, in our 10 years online. What a combination of sunset ferry in silhouette profile, and the setting sun.

I will not be submitting it to Shipspotters, as I anticipate that they will identify the setting sun and clouds as "unnecessary clutter." It shall live here.
