Yup. Did they ever bother to try and find her on the ocean floor or what?

The guy who had the Vacationland model is in North Carolina actually, the model itself is in Michigan, U.S.A
I am making a model myself as some of you already know, she is gonna be 22 inches long now, the Mill bay ferry! I promise she will be in excellent condition if I can make more models of her later on...
Ok, I might start a ferry modelling club when I get to the age of 25.

That's a nice photo. I've never seen any pics of her when she was back east.

There are a few others out there, just image google for Pere Nouvel. What I'd like to see are some interior shots. I *think* I was on her in the Summer of '73... Does anyone know if the Sunshine Coast Queen was used on the Departure Bay run in August(?) 1973?

Wow, that's a great picture!!! I didn't know it got so rusted up! Did they ever retrieve that ferry off of the ocean floor?

Whoa she was just showing her age there she looked terrible and still in that classic old pastel blue and white poor thing too bad they didn't majorly refit her or something

I don't think they can re-lift her, she is too big, and the ocean is as deep as the Valleys between mountains!

Sure they can relift her...but it wouldn't be easy. Supposedly they can lift the Titanic, which weighs 46,000 tonnes and is more than a kilometer down.

They tried lifting the Titanic for a scene in the Movie but they failed

She was sold off to a company in China or something. So when they decided to tow it across the Pacific, they ran into a storm, something went wrong, and she sank to the bottom, and has been there ever since. I guess seeming that picture was from the early 90's (assumably) that it happened not too long ago.

E Whitebone: you wouldn't happen to have any more shots of retired ferries, would you? Much obliged I went through my remaining slides that are still in condition to scan and I really don't have any of BC ferry fleet that are out of commission. I really regret now that I didn't take photos of the fleet.

. I guess seeming that picture was from the early 90's (assumably) that it happened not too long ago. Actually, I seem to use the early 90’s as a generic term for something I did long ago. That photo was taken by me in a kayak, and thinking about it that would put the time frame more like in the late 80’s.

Yeah, I was just going to correct myself there. It sank in December of 1987, and hasn't been seen ever since.
