Greetings to our ferry fans of the Salish Sea.
After much preparation, the MV QUEEN OF SAANICH is underway at the end of the tow line of the Tug CRAIG TRANS. They departed Anvil Island and are proceeding south alongside the coastlines of North America out on the Pacific Ocean to Mexico.
The tug may be broadcasting her name or her number as 720794000 on the ship trackers.
The passage by the Vancouver area was mosly in the dark. There was daylight when the tow passed through Haro Strait and webcams captured them as they passed by San Juan Island, Victoria, Race Rocks, and Sooke.
Even though the passage has taken place, here's a list of webcams to look at just for fun:
BCF HORSESHOE BAY (May not show the tow, a good view of what it's like out on Howe Sound though)(You refresh)

We'll see which side of Catalina Island the tow will pass when they get closer. There are webcams on that island near Los Angeles.
Like what we did on the move of the QUEEN OF VANCOUVER, this thread is set up for postings related only on the transit of the QUEEN OF SAANICH to Mexico. When this trip is done, the moderators will merge this into the SAANICH's normal thread of discussion. This thread is endorsed by Flugel Horn, a musical moderator of this family of ferry fans.
