It's Ken Rutherford. To be honest not sure what his role is, but it sounds like he should be really good. The banquet is my favourite part of the event! So I guess that means that Sebastian Bach isn't doing it this year? ;D

But before you go to Trains, there's something even closer coming up... this weekend as a matter of face, in Chilliwack. If you can make it, you should, cause you can meet me (and my layout, ;D) which will be there, although it is just bare track and stuff right now... no scenery so far.

I'm on a training exercise in Chilliwack this weekend, I'm going to try and snag a vehicle and get out for awhile to the show. It's a really good one.

Well looks like I'm working the Squamish switcher tomorrow afternoon, so I'll be going on Saturday and possibly Sunday.

Ok, looks like I won't be going to Trains 2009, I've been cut off as an engineer in North Vancouver and looks like I'm being shipped off to Prince George.

I assume you didn't want to get shipped off? Does CN at least pay for the move?

I assume you didn't want to get shipped off? Does CN at least pay for the move? I can claim my expenses, but CN will not cover my accomodations. Although I won't be moving up to Prince, as I was getting in the car to leave Burnaby I was called and informed that I was cut off the board in Prince George. The only place I can go now is back to Thornton yard in Surrey.

Hey Dane... didn't see you in Chilliwack. Saw Tyler. I even had my railroad there running.
Anyway, I'm pretty definite to be at the show in Burnaby, hopefully by that time, I'll actually be a member of the Chilliwack club.

Let me ask: Is that logo based on West coast express trains?

I am getting shamelessly exciting about this... I am not 100% sure if I will be able to go unfortunately.
I will look for my E&N Jacket and wear it if I am able to go.

Let me ask: Is that logo based on West coast express trains? Someone else asked me that too, and no. www.westcoastexpress.com/portal.asp?PageID=HOMEI suppose their are similarities, but they don't really look the same to me. Meaningless swooshes, both, nonetheless.

I will shamelessly bump this...
The stars aligned, and I will be going to this tomorrow as close to 10 as possible!
Looking forward to seeing what this years show offers, I will most likely be wearing my E&N jacket.

I'll try and get to it on Sunday, but I doubt I'll make it to this show, I've got family staying with me for the weekend. My mum got tickets to see KISS.

Just having some fun here. I picked up something at the local craft store the other day, just for fun. It's new, ground breaking and futuristic: just drop a capsule into water and you'll have an instant train. This is what it looks like before adding water. I thought it looked fun... will post pictures of the post-water reaction for you all a little later.

Have you ever read the short story, 'The New Food' Don't worry, I'll post pics of the end result once I go through the proper process, with real water and everything.

Would love to see pics of how it turns out. Well, here's the finished product. Nothing so sophisticated I'm afraid. I was expecting something simplistic, but maybe not quite this basic. It was fun watching them grow out of the capsules, though, and we had more fun and a few laughs trying to figure out the car types and build the trains. Not bad entertainment, for $.99, but certainly nothing to make purists blush, either. But I do feel rather an ass now after it's all said and done.
