I noticed the Puyallup is going to Drydock before the Wenatchee does for a few days, is that to fix the engine completely, because it has been on and off the maintenance schedule. Also, what is going to happen during the Dockside work?

Does the Hiyu have its original engines or did she get them replaced at some point. If they are original, how fragile are they since they would be 48 years old?

So yesterday when I was bringing my family's boat back into Fairhaven I was very surprised to find the Kaleetan getting painted next to the drydock! Here's a few pics of the Kaleetan getting painted as viewed from the water. -Please excuse the awful quality of these pics, I only had my I-Phone with me to take photos with. View of the bow (or in this case I guess you could call it the stern too since it's not going anywhere.) You could tell that there was lots of action aboard: I wonder if they are going to fix her "Flying T" logo.

Now what run will she be doing this week while up at kingston? Edmonds-Kingston with the Tillikum and Spokane. It's still more capacity than the Spokane and the Tokitae on the plus side

Is the Klahowya's galley open on the inter-island route?

According to Kiro 7, there is a huge (and unusual) vessel swap going on. - Tillikum moves from Eagle Harbor to replace the Sealth
- The Sealth goes to Bremerton to replace the Kitsap
- The Kitsap is going to replace the Elwha until further notice
This is bad news for Bremerton commuters (including myself).

Is it just me, or does the "Flying T" logo look bigger than before she got repainted?

Puyallup still in service this morning. Not sure whats going to happen now. At least the bigger boats are still where they are needed today. I think they are waiting for traffic to die down so they can do the downsizing at Bainbridge, Mukilteo, and Kingston without a huge impact because of the 4th of July weekend.

Too bad the fourth Mark II wasn't in the budget. It would really come in handy right now and last summer with the Tacoma.

why is the Chelan #5 today and the Elwha #1 and doing the international run? I thought she took over last week as the international boat? I do like the Elwha though! I think it might have something with the galley being closed on the Chelan earlier in the week, that is my theory on the vessel swap.

She looks like listing slightly. It looks like in all of the pictures I have seen of her recently she is listing, is that due to the Emergency Generator. If it is the Emergency Generator, I thought it was on the other side of the vessel.

Expanded Ferry Travel Alert Descriptions WSF will update our travel alert language used to describe and clarify a variety of operational activities that may delay or cancel service. The updated language is intended to better explain the cause of service disruptions and provide basic factual information to help customers plan their travel. WSF will no longer use the term "operational constraints."

Whatever Elwha's problem was, it was short-lived, thankfully. Elwha was back up and running that same evening. I rode on Elwha a bunch last week in my travels to and from Orcas. It had been awhile since I had been on that vessel, so I noticed a few changes not seen by me before. 1. Elwha now has the same dreaded "cage" on the shelter decks that Kaleetan and Yakima have, leaving Hyak as the only Super without them, for now. 2. Also, They have dramatically reduced the forward life raft platforms, and have gone to a single raft instead of 3, as you can see in these photos. current what it used to look like The Hyak is probably not going to get them. Since she will be out of the islands and onto Bremerton.

I imagine if the Tacoma doesn't get fixed tonight, they will send the Issaquah to Bremerton (maybe), the Evergreen to Fauntleroy, the Kaleetan to Edmonds (or Issaquah to Edmonds), and the Walla Walla or Spokane to Bainbridge, until the Puyallup or Tacoma comes back online, which ever is first.

Starting at 6 pm the Issquah will be the Seatle Bainbridge Island. First Issquah classes on the Bainbridge Island route. The Sealth was last year, for a day (I think) because the Tacoma had to get a COI extension.

Sunday, May 3, 2015 Today offered me another milestone in the routes I have taken a ride aboard a KDT ferry on. Add the Kingston run to my log. I've been aboard the SALISH on the Keystone run, the Bremerton run, the Tahlequah run, and in the San Juan Islands. Since she was acting as third ferry on the Kingston run this fine sunny day, I took advantage of this opportunity. Here's my photo journal of my trip aboard the SALISH on the Kingston run ( PHOTO HEAVY!): Thanks for another good ride, MV SALISH!Maybe they should make Edmonds a three boat schedule, it looks and sounds like a success! ======= [moderator edit to remove the lovely many photos from the quote, so that the 16-word reply isn't lost]
