An update:
As of today the last vestige of the winter's snow has vanished from my yard. Many areas in this town still have a week or two to go, however.
I can now go change my name back to WCK.
There remains above normal to record levels of snow in the high country around pretty much all of BC. Flooding in May/June is possible and could possibly be serious. It all depends on how fast the melt happens.

I'm back with another snow report for a new season... From this afternoon, 28 October 2012, just a couple of hours ago... I shovelled snow off the driveway for the first time, too. My fence survived last night's earth quake. Weather or not it makes it through another winter remains to be seen

I just woke up to a nice dusting of snow at my place. It's gonna be chaos on the roads this morning. However the North Shore mountains are experiencing some of the best December conditions in the last couple of years. ;D

So we received about 45 cm of fresh snow last night & this morning here in Kitimat. That is on top of the 75 cm of packed snow that has accumulated so far this winter. I went out with my camera this afternoon and got a few videos of our DoK (District of Kitimat) industrial strength snow blowers in action. These videos are especially for Karl. He should come on up and get employment as a DoK casual employee operating snow removal equipment. During times when it is not snowing he could drive to Rupert and take a round trip to Haida Gwaii on the NorEx... LOL ;D Enjoy these three videos... Clicking on each photo will take you to the associated video on Flickr. Note the casual appearance of a BC Transit vehicle in the second video.

Looks like a good sledding hill! Yes, it is a good sledding hill, but the 'run-out' at the bottom is onto the highway!

Well, I guess snow is now upon most of the pacific northwest, and since of course we don't have a whole bunch of snow plowers and drivers experienced in snow, we (BSD) get a 2-hour late start, which coupled with the assembly schedule we had gives un totally rediculas 24-min periods! Needless to say it is going to be awesome!

Oh, yes, there's snow, but in typical Seattle fashion it lasts for a few hours. Right now it's raining and all the snow is melting here at my house. I don't have any school anyway because the fall quarter was over two Wednesdays ago at North Seattle Community College.

Either it's nothing and lasts for not even a day either it's a lot and stays for a whole week. School was cancelled for us (noooo, now we'll have to make it up! )

We had about 30 cm of new snow last night & this morning. It is looking Christmasy around here now. We also had a 4 hour power outage caused by heavy snow bringing trees & branches onto electrical distribution lines. I had to get out a camp stove to make tea.

:)we just got in from Rosemary's sing song session down at the Pt. Roberts. and we still have a fair bit of wet snow for this area, so much that the heavy stuff just caved in the grape vine arbour that the winter birds love to nest in, so we have some clean up back yard! so for the moment we are the wett\white coast! :)mrdot.

Currently its snowing in Parksville, Looks like we get a white Christmass. I got stuck in Qualicum for about three hours on Friday because of very heavy unforecased snow. I tried leaving (for Victoria), got to the Highway, realized it was a terrible idea to drive seeing the increasing snow pack, and turned around. Glad I did.

The bus I was on was sliding pretty good going around the corners yesterday afternoon in Parksville, mind you it was one of the Handydarts they use as a community bus #2389. Glad I made it.
