Looks like Seattle is going to get hit again later today. The "high" temps won't be above freezing Thursday & Friday so it'd better melt off tomorrow.

but no work for Jordan - yet...we keep praying The only reason why Grouse has been closed in the last 3 out of 4 days is because of windstorms and avalanches.. Today it was too windy to run the Skyride.

Again we got another dumping of snow in Victoria. It's all white again. Maybe about 5 inches here. Another big storm this winter, lol!

I think it might be Victoria, ironically.
We got about 9 inches here in Burnaby... more out in PoCo at work. Worst commute I've had, coming home tonight. Took about 80 minutes, usually takes 30. Snow was coming down very hard and under that was ice.
I think we've got more snow this winter than Toronto, Montreal, and anywhere else back east (east of the Prairies).

Very interesting. This snow cloud missed us, by about 30 kilometers. It's going to start to get pretty cold starting tonight, and will stay cold for the next week or so. So if you have snow, it's going to be around for a while obviously......You may or may not be sick of it by the end of the week. So if you are sick of it.....come up to Squamish where the grass is green, and the girls are pretty.......But we're not totally missed by all of this blast of winter....we're dealing with the artic outflow winds right now, and the Lakes are freezing up again.

Trivia time.... Which Canadian capital city (national, provincial or territorial) holds the record for the greatest one day snow fall? Victoria, BC - December 28th 1996 This is indeed correct! Now for the harder question... What Canadian capital city (national, provincial or territorial) held the record prior to Victoria's big dump of 1996?

What Canadian capital city (national, provincial or territorial) held the record prior to Victoria's big dump of 1996? Victoria already held the record which was established during the winter of 1915-16. If my memory of historical trivia tidbits is correct there was a total of more than 6 feet that winter. Apparently the BC Electric street car company was out of action for a month.

Can't believe the snow you keep getting on the best coast. Our grass has not been covered once out here yet and you guys keep getting hammered. My Uncle keeps telling me on the phone that he has to go out and shovel where he lives on the Island. I am not sure it has even felt like Christmas without any snow here. One of the Ski resorts here just laid off 1300 people for lack of snow. I hear the nonwinter winter may end here after Sunday but we will see. All the downed trees in Stanley Park will cause a big change there. Has anyone heard if the Cathedral Grove was hit bad near Alberni or how Tofino faired?

Apparently Cathedral Grove has come through the storms okay. But not so the West Coast of the Island. I have heard that perhaps thousands of trees are down along and over the West Coast Trail in Pacific Rim National Park.
