Okay Last nite the Spirit of BC Returned to Tsawwassen from I would persume Esquimalt as she came from Boundary Pass and docked around 9pm. She was out on sea trials again this afternoon as I heard her on Victoria Traffic.
Also early this afternoon the mv Tenaka was at the Sandheads heading inbound to I would persume Deas Dock. I could not make out where she was heading too.
Source for both, Victoria Traffic 156.550 mhz
I am not home right now, therefore I can not give you the excact times as I have it written down at home.

SOBC hasn't been in Esquimalt recently. Whatever work she's been getting done has been elsewhere. This morning she came southbound around Saturna and down Haro Strait. She turned around near Ten Mile Pt and went back the way she came. Here's an image showing the track she took (using my received AIS data) On that note, for anyone who might like to follow the movements of NA (or any other vessel in the Victoria area), my AIS setup is running 24/7, and can be viewed at members.shaw.ca/a-lester/overview.html. Right now, I can only sporadically receive BC Ferries passing between Portland and Moresby Islands, but I may be extending my range soon.

Here's an image showing the track she took (using my received AIS data) The SoBC was at Deas Pacific Marine in Richmond this season for her annual refit. On that note, for anyone who might like to follow the movements of NA (or any other vessel in the Victoria area), my AIS setup is running 24/7, and can be viewed at members.shaw.ca/a-lester/overview.html. Right now, I can only sporadically receive BC Ferries passing between Portland and Moresby Islands, but I may be extending my range soon. Thank you for your AIS tracking contribution. I've been searching on and off for a long while for a local AIS tracking website on the net for ferries of our region.

That would have been cool to be on the west side of San Juan Island and see the SOBC go by.

That would have been cool to be on the west side of San Juan Island and see the SOBC go by. Reminds me of being in my grandparents' southern-facing house in Point Robberts, just south of the border at Tsawwassen and facing Boundary Pass, and suddenly seeing the Queen of Saanich come limping through the pass during the summer of 2005.

The SoBC can still be seen on the webcam for Tswwassen. If you look at the Southern Gulf Islands it is on the left of the pic.

The SOBC will be back in service Saturday then the SOVI goes out Saturday afternoon begining with the 3pm sailing from Swartz Bay the Queen of Saanich takes over. The Queen of Esquimalt is still on route 1 today then Saturday I would assume she would go to Nanaimo then replaces the Coquitlam Sunday which replaces the Cowichan. The Vancouver will be onr route 1 in place of the Saanich on Sunday as the extra!
