Much easier to use for me. Mobile -friendly is very important. For fun, try using some of the ferry sites in Europe!

'Today's schedule' for Texada shows business as usual. If you look at service notices for the sunshine coast, where the Texada schedule is, there is none. You have to look at the notices for the northern gulf islands, where the Texada schedule also is, to find it.
If they're going to pretend that their schedule page is current- by putting today's date on it- they should take into account what is actually happening on the route. I know it says to check for service notices, but a lot of people won't.

Another quibble... maybe I'm missing something, but I don't see any option for schedules in a printable form, which was on the old website. The new format is so huge that when I printed off the route one schedule, it was about five pages. And why they have to show the arrival times for the ten minute Denman route, I can't imagine.

I’ve been enjoying the new site, especially the mobile-friendly format. That said, is there a way to display the schedules for the northern routes in a summarized format, the way it was displayed on the previous site? It used to show a full table of sailings, dates of operations, vessels, and stops. Now, you have to select your sailing dates and start-end points before viewing the schedule, as the seasonal schedule doesn’t seem to display these sailings properly.

Island Discovery still at Buckley Bay. Those repairs are taking a while. And what I've been noticing ever since the Island Aurora was shifted to Blubber Bay is that she is invisible on the new website's 'ferry tracking' page. No problem finding her on the Marine Traffic site, but for whatever reason, she may as well be the Queen of Richmond to the BC Ferries 'bots tracking ship positions for public consumption.

The www.bcferries.com/current-conditions/departures page is a bit messed up today. It shows that the Coastal Renaissance went from Tsawwassen to Duke Point this morning. It did not - must have been the Inspiration. It is also showing that the Queen of Cowichan is scheduled to run between Departure Bay and Horseshoe Bay tonight but it's on its way to Tsawwassen / Deas at the moment. The Queen of Coquitlam is on its way in to Horseshoe Bay now. The Reservation page also showed that the Coastal Renaissance was to take over the Duke Point run from the Coastal Inspiration today. This did not happen, the Renaissance is still tied up at the maintenance berth.

Looking forward to seeing those changes take place! Personally, I've found the new website in current form rather cumbersome to go navigate both on my phone and laptop. Having both directions on the same page and the "date bands" like on the old website format will go a long way in making it easier to navigate in my opinion.

I kinda like have schedule per day because it’s easy to know when additional sailing while happen. I personally think that they should merge Southern Gulf Island routes into one schedule and layout like Washington State Ferries for the San Juan Island schedule because more clear while vessel goes with that specific sailing. But every other route could stay the same because it I am find clearly layout.

There were multiple cancellations today on the Departure Bay and Duke Point routes, but I did not get any emails with these service notices (which I'm signed up for). This is less than optimal - I just found out about the cancellations from a local news story!

I don't have stats to back me up, but I don't think it's been a bad autumn overall for cancellations, at least on the south coast.

Anyone else just utterly lost on the new BCFS website …. The new website is very confusing when it comes to schedules, on Southern Gulf Islands sailings that include transfers like Tsawwassen to Saturna it says no transfers which I know is not true, and the schedules do not include through fares going through Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay and then transfering to the MV Mayne Queen or MV Queen of Cumberland at Swartz Bay to get to Lyall Harbor. Also there are no PDF schedules anymore, which used to be really helpful.

I have notice on certain routes that dangerous cargo sailing are oddly indicated or randomly not indicated at all when they operate the sailing. How I notice I was looking at seasonal schedule and daily on Port McNiell - Alert Bay - Sointula route which where not matching up and I sent in customer service notice on website, I got an email back indicating it was dangerous cargo sailing and they said the issue will be looked into. So, hopefully BC Ferries fix’s that issue on Port McNiell - Alert Bay - Sointula route and a long with other routes that have dangerous cargo sailings. There schedule could possibly screw up a person for example on Port McNiell - Alert Bay - Sointula on Tuesday there are 6 sailing every other day of the week 4 sailing according to google maps, seasonal schedule but the daily schedule says there are 6 sailing but 2 sailing are dangerous cargo sailing on Tuesday.

It seems like BC Ferries has redone schedule for routes on seasonal schedule pages which have days of week plus sailing on those day, it seems will through out from BC Ferries.

I feel like BC Ferries needs a new website server or host’s because it’s done very frequently, I have notice since they did the update to it.

mods: can we change this subject thread to minimise forum bloat?
maybe new subject thread = BCF SM/ BCF IT...? * - * - * - hey guys, im sure most of you are aware, so im kinda curious why nobody has said anything about it yet (or is there a separate thread already for it?)
anybody have any first thoughts now that an official app has been released? (hint: early reviews are pretty bad)

(hint: early reviews are pretty bad) Honestly, at first glance being on the app is just like being on the website, I don't see much of a difference. Also I tried using the live ferry tracker on the app and it was broken. I haven't tried using it for booking yet though.
