Just got word that another bomb threat has been made at Tsawwassen terminal. As a result the SoBC and Coquitlam are currently holding outside of the terminal while the Saanich remains in Berth 5. Once the SoVI arrives at Swartz Bay she will remain there...
More information to come...

SOBC is dead-in-the-water, just off of Tsawwassen. That's as at 6:50pm
Yes, something is going on.....

Is it possible the high winds are preventing the Saanich from loading and the SOBC is waiting for them to die down? Has anyone hactually confirmed that this is a bomb threat? Man I'm glad I'm on AM's right now.

Have people figured out that bomb threats do not work at all and land you a place in jail in most occasions?

They do work at invoking fear and terror in the minds of the traveling public though, which I think is a "terrorist's" primary goal.

This is rediculous.
But at least Karl can tell us first hand what was going on. He's on the 5:00pm SoBC out of Swartz Bay tonight.

I myself was on a solo SGI snow-day trip, aboard the Queen of Tsawwassen's 4:20pm sailing out of Village Bay, Mayne Island, by way of Galiano. I realized that we slowed down too early accross the strait and immediatly felt the smaller vessel rocking while idling. Very soon the captain was on the PA system letting us know in simple terms that there was a police incident at the terminal and we weren't being allowed to dock. About 40 minutes later, after zigging and zagging to avoid bobbing like a cork as best possible, the captain informed us that we'd be allowed to dock in about 20 minutes. All this time the Queen of Coquitlam was idling nearby and the Route 1 vessel was sitting at Berth 5, soon even the another vessel was approaching, not long before we were allowed to dock. I was informed by a deckhand that 'a bag was found' and, after asking if it was called in, he answere affirmatively, though things were so dynamic that he might have been mistaken. Thanks go out to the officer who upon prompting called for a deckhand to hold the bus for the walk-ons after we had to wait for unloading Route 30 traffic to pass before we unloaded, though word came back that the bus hadn't been allowed through the blockade yet. In all it was quite the surreal experience to be sitting almost idle off the terminal after dark with the 'Coquitlam doing the same nearby, let alone having the another major vessel also soon approaching.

Graham got any photos of the entourage of ferries at TSA? Also will you still be joining us next weekend?

Graham got any photos of the entourage of ferries at TSA? Unfortunately it was too dark for any photographs and after such a wet and wild day to begin with my camera wasn't up to functioning even for much more video, only a short clip of the captain mentioning that we'd be docking in 20 minutes or so. Also will you still be joining us next weekend? If all goes as planned, yes.

I just got off the 5pm SOBC from Swartz Bay. We were told onboard that there was a Police Incident at Tsawwassen and were slowing down. We were probably doing under 5 knots and were hardly moving. The whole trip took about 2 and half hours before we got to Tsawwassen about 7:20pm. The Queen of Saanich was departing when we came in following behind was the Queen of Coquitlam which was also really late. Saw the Tsawwassen docked in berth 2. So yeah it was a longer trip aboard the SOBC tonight but it was interesting!

Sounds like this was a case of an upset individual who decided to make a rash remark about blowing up a Spirit class vessel.

Over reaction by BCF. If they respond like this to every single person who gets frustrated and angry expect this to happen weekly if not daily in the future.

If someone is stupid enough to stay such a comment, the police should treat it as a threat and take whatever action they need to do. I hope he is charged, and permanently banned from travelling on BCFS...

Anyone who calls in bomb threats or says anything like that should be. You dont say those types of things in places like that. They should be banned and why cant the media get things right. Spirit of Vancouver, umm yeah they mean the Spirit of Vancouver Island??

Didn't you know? The Spirit of Vancouver has always run on Route 30. It was the 3rd Spirit that was accidently built...

As for being charged and permanently banned, I highly doubt it. There are several cracks in the justice system. I do believe that this entire event will severely scare and smarten the accused up which will lead him in the right direction to never say those things again. That is what we all want.

The media seems to know more about this Spirit of Vancouver than we do.

If we can dress the CR up in 'fish-nets' then why can't we dress our "red-headed-step-child" V-class in a Spirit outfit?
