I wouldn't say the "Color Fantasy" is ugly, per se; it just looks more like a Las Vegas hotel than a ship. I guess it's also why I've never been to Vegas save for that two-hour layover (on a flight between Oakland and Seattle).

I personally think the Color Fantasy looks nicer than the second one. The Fantasy one looks to be a cruise ship not a ferry. But still looks alot better than the second one.

i think the pride of dover, could be a nice ship, if they took those STUPID angles off of her.

Actually Karl, the Color Fantasy is a ferry, it just uses the stern to load and unload.

It's the Banff Springs Hotel on water.

I have never seen any ship looking remotely like the Banff Springs Hotel before.

I was just looking through the RORO's Grow section for the Coastal Inspiration. I tried clicking on the "Owners only" selection, and was asked for a username and password. To my surprise, the first combination I tried worked!! I won't say what they are explicitly, but the username is pretty easy (who are the "owners"?), and the password is a very common word around this board (what are they building?). There's really nothing that interesting in there, though. Just a bunch of incomprehensible documents. Much of it is in German, too. I'm a little surprised they weren't a bit more creative in their password.

I guess there wasn't anything too confidential in there. Mostly detailed schedules of when certain drawings needed to be approved etc. The masterplan is similar to the schedule but all in German. I was hoping there would be some floorplans or more detailed drawings there. It looks like the shipyard can launch a ship every 4 months or so.
As an aside, I wonder if any ships are scheduled in between 735 and the Northern Expedition.

I'm guessing that there will be a gap between the last Super-C and the N-Expedition. That's just based on my reasoning that there would have been other customers in line for ships too, and the only reason that the 3 super's are in a row at 733-735 is because all the orders were placed at once. So, would Flensberger be able to expedite the Expedition? Not without upsetting other valued customers....so I suspect there will be a gap. Just my hunch.....and I really wanted to say "expedite the Expedition"

Say fast 5 times in a row.
I guess the other factor is the unannounced replacement for the Chilliwack too. In the press release giving the names of the northern vessels BC Ferries said it was "negotiating with the government". I wonder is it is part of a package deal or if they still need to tender it etc.

Still need to tender, as per all provincial aquisitions (so if it would have had to have been announced already).

Opps the module plan is sort of mixed up. They again are skipping some parts in the middle and it has two modules in Final Erection despite the keep laying just happening today. It does appear that everything is cut and a lot of the Inspiration is already being assembled into modules.

Yes, indeed! The COASTAL INSPIRATION is off to the races!! Those skilled hardhatters are at it again. Swarming like bumble bees. Welding as each module is placed.

Flensburger's site is all wacky again. It appears the daily picture isn't being updated, but it is. Follow the link below: www.fsg-ship.de/berth/733/thumbs/last.jpgYou might take notice the photos are under Hull 733 -Coastal Renaissance. Our company insider might wish to let the IT dept know they need to correct the link.

Hello everybody, the reason for mixing pictures is, that we only take one picture a day from somewhere on the yard and publish it on our "daily" picture site. So you will always see a mixture of vessel we are building at the moment. Sorry for that. But as you might know, on www.flickr.com/photos/brinkmann/ you´ll find pictures I´m taking from time to time and they are sorted...

Great pics once again Herr Brinkmann. The view out of the upper Solarium is going to be excellent. Hopefully they ban smoking from this area too ;D. Ladies Washroom lol.

The Solarium looks amazing, probably the best panoramic view of any BC Ferry. On a beautiful day on the Tsawwassen-Swartz Bay Route in Summer 2008, the Coastal Celebration's Solarium will be the place to view the beautiful Gulf Islands scenery.

The reason I commented was more for the fact there was no indication on the daily photo page of either 733 or 734 that new photos were taken. If you look at the overviews for either of the pages, you will see they aren't being updated daily as they usually are. You can still get to the latest photo, but any photos from the days in between are inaccessible.

Yesterday's and Today's Update: Bit more progress, still has a few weeks till we see any big progress above the hull. But Alas, the Module Plan Remains the Same.
