The first person who guesses the exact date the CR carries paying customers between DPB and HSB for the very first time will be the winner (of eternal fame). If no one guesses on the nose, the first person to guess the closest date before or after the magic date will win.
Scott: March 7. ← Special merit for guessing the closest date to the CR's first Managers' Discretion Sailing. kyle fossett: 3:00 p.m. sailing, March 8. ← WINNER! Chris: March 8. queenofcowichan: March 8. blackshadow: March 8. Michael: March 9. Mirrlees: March 9. --Coastal-Skier--: March 10. kam: March 10. johnnytindale: 6:30 a.m. sailing, March 11. Wet Coast Kid: March 12. Nucksrule: March 13. cohocatcher: March 13. Political Incorrectness: March 14. DENelson83: March 15. ferrytraveller: March 15. coastalcody: Saint Patrick's Day. shipchandler: March 21. Ship-Rider 16: March 31. Gulf Island Teen: April 1.

I believe that having this vessel and its extra capacity available during Spring Break is desirable. With that in mind I would target the week before spring break to introduce her into revenue service. My prediction - the 6:30 am sailing from Departure Bay on March 12th.
I hope she is in service during Spring Break as I am hoping to take a ride on her at that time.

Once she is all ready to go I would not be surprised to see her do a relief sailing or sailings on very quiet day so they can get their proverbial feet wet. Probably not a good analogy to use in shipping though.

March 9th
Think about it - busy Sunday, perfect time for BCFS to promote their new boat.

My guess is simple. "Whenever she and her crew are ready".

My guess is March 13th. The Thursday before a very busy weekend when all of the students on the North Shore are released for spring break (Me being one of them). There are plenty of sports tournaments and events on the Island and the Mainland.

March 13 - 8 days before the easter long weekend. This gives the crews a chance to work with the travelling public and get used to loading and unloading vehicles. It may be student break earlier, but the long weekend will have heavy use. The day of the 20th will probably feature many users, so starting a week before that gives everyone a chance to adjust to this.

March 10th for me. That will give the crew plenty of time to adjust to the new ship.
