Maybe it is training excess for crew, coast guard and military.

If you look at that Coast Guard vessel the position report is over 3 hours old. I saw the CG ship sail down the Strait a while ago so I don't think anyone is near the CI. Not sure why she's just been sitting there though.

You're totally right. Hopefully they bring her back to Departure Bay - that would be interesting to see.

The Coastal Inspiration came in to Departure Bay at 3 am - under her own power. Her engine rumble woke me up and I got up to look expecting to see a tug, but I didn't see one.

So here's a bit of a strange one. The Coastal Inspiration will take over from the Coastal Renaissance on the Duke Point run on Monday June 29, but the swap will happen in the middle of the day instead of after the last run of the day. This means some juggling. I wonder why they're doing it like this? I think this swap was also delayed - the reservations schedule originally seemed to indicate that this would occur on June 23. I wonder if the problem on the 19th had something to do with the delayed return to service for the Inspiration. www.bcferries.com/bcfservicenotice?id=7775Sailing Arrival Delay Coastal Renaissance 12:45 pm from Tsawwassen- June 29 Due to a vessel swap, the Coastal Renaissance’s 12:45 pm departure from Tsawwassen Terminal on June 29 will be delayed, with an expected arrival time of 3:30 pm. The Coastal Inspiration will replace the Coastal Renaissance on the Duke Point-Tsawwassen route for the scheduled 3:15 pm Duke Point sailing time, and this change will require the arrival and unloading of the Coastal Renaissance to be delayed approximately 45 minutes later than would normally occur. BC Ferries urges safe and responsible behaviour while on board, including reminding customers to remain their vehicles, maintaining physical distance from other passengers and wear a face covering in the event physical distancing is not possible. We thank our customers for their patience with this delay and look forward to the return of the Coastal Inspiration to the Tsawwassen – Duke Point route.

The Coastal Renaissance and the Queen of Coquitlam swapped positions at Departure Bay. The Coquitlam is now at the maintenance berth and the Renaissance is in a passenger berth. I think this is the first time I've seen one of the Queens at the maintenance berth in my 3 years here.

The Queen of Coquitlam has left Departure Bay and looks like she might be heading for Deas.

The Coastal Renaissance has been out in the Strait for a little toodle this afternoon. She's on her way back in to Departure Bay now.

The Coastal Renaissance left Departure Bay last night and is now on the Duke Point run. The Coastal Inspiration is here now - but is not at the maintenance berth, but rather one of the regular berths. And the Queen of Cowichan looks to be tied up at Tsawwassen. I wonder who they're leaving the maintenance berth open for?

The Salish Orca has just come in to Departure Bay. She is at one of the regular berths and the Coastal Inspiration is tied up at the other one - so the Orca must not be staying long.

Orca is holding off Little River / Comox, for relief of the Eagle for refit time.

Someone may have said this already but I just checked myshiptracking and MV Salish Eagle is still at Tsawwassen Terminal, why cant the Orca just stay up on its original route at Powell River and keep the Eagle here for the Tsawwassen - Southern Gulf Islands route, maybes that is what BC Ferries is planning to do but I am not sure.

The Coastal Inspiration is leaving Departure Bay (with rude 7 am ship's whistle soundings) and heading to Duke Point to take over that route from the Coastal Renaissance.
The Coastal Renaissance is at Tsawwassen instead of Duke Point, so I wonder if she's going in to drydock or to Deas.

The Queen of Coquitlam left Departure Bay around 3:30 this morning. I see today the Coquitlam and Cowichan are doing the Departure Bay - Horseshoe Bay run and the Queen of Oak Bay is at Deas.

Hey Guys...
Kind of adding to what BB Fan above noted, the NW and the CR(?) have swapped routes for the time being while SBC is tied up. Is this to avoid having the NW be the no.1 boat out of TSW? Is there a reason for this? Do they do this every time the no.1 TSW boat is out?

This type of replace has always occurred since BC Ferries got the Coastal Class.
