There is some more random spam crap posted by SFE on ferry nicknames. If a moderator could delete it please, it would be greatly appreciated. Edit: I did a siteadvisor search and the websites are coming up as Chinese registration and have links to known malware websites. Moderator note:
All three posts were deleted between 2305 - 2311.
Please refer to Rules and Information.

Not to worry everyone. We have this problem more often than you think. We're just quick to deleting it all. But sometimes we're caught off guard, and then we see the posts about the spam arise.

As a casual observer, I think the fact you have not seen the Chinese crap before is a testament to just how well our staff is keeping up on the spam issue. I have seen it happen fairly often, but only at times like 0330 in the morning when all good moderators should be in bed. At any other time of the day, it usually disappears so quickly that most of us never even know that it was there. Great job, guys!

I challenge anyone to find spam that's been left-up for more than 12 hours. Generally it's 8 hours or less, usually much less.

As a further bit of info, this type of Asian spam happens every single day on this forum. And as soon as 1 IP-address is blocked, another starts. So it's a never-ending game of spam deletion. The only time we were immune to it was for the few weeks when this forum was member-only for posting (last autumn). It's my normal routine to delelte 2 or 3 every morning or so, unless another moderator beats me to it. Again Mr. Canucks, welcome to my everyday world. Again, every single day on this forum........and probably for many other forums too.

However, by this time in the morning (8 AM EDT), someone has usually mopped the decks and polished the brass. Dedicated staff to be on a 5 in the morning to do housekeeping. ;D

Some of you might have received a Personal-Message from a new member, which is obviously a scam artist.
The new member account has been deleted.
If any of you want to send a donation to that new member's cause, let us know how it turned out. ;D

never got nothing Why don't we reopen the forum to free posting for non-members again, just for a weeks or two, to see how fast the spammers come back?

Feel free to start your own forum if you want to experiment. I've found that forums that allow free posting without registration are almost non-existent these days, so why would we want to be moving backwards?

I'll post this here since the problem thread is locked.
I'm going with the conclusion that peter84 is a spammer, and has no business being on this forum at all. In addition, his thread is bogus and seems to be an entirely the wrong forum. The Gangsta Talk Guide to Greyhound Depots is found elsewhere.
In that case, tired as we all are of incomprehensible and irritating threads being posted at random, I vote for complete deletion of that Greyhound thread and Peter can come back was he has learned how to talk above the level of one of those crackheads from the ghetto bus depot.
