Im building a 5.3 spirit but latley i have been not able to work on it because of a long house renivation buti started in wood regretfully and now im thinking i should probably amke her out of fiber glass because it's mcuh easyer to do. and BC Ferries gave me the coolest book on the sprits building im sure that you have not seen the pictures but ill have to dig it up in my room. Kieran: sorry to focus on the form of your post, and not the content, but this is pretty poor form. Assuming that you don't have dyslexia (and I'm saying that sincerely), then I suggest that you use spell-check and carefully proof-read your post, as this is pretty embarrassing. If you do have dyslexia, then I still suggest that you use spell-check, as that will help you catch those back-wards letters in your words. Please try, thanks. We want to focus on your content, not the form. And usually it's easy to ignore, but this here post has 77 total words, and 10 of those have errors.....ratio is too high for this usually mellow fellow ;D

Did you read the words in the specific post that I was critiquing? If this is simply a lack of study of the English language, then I guess I'm wrong to draw attention to it. In my opinion, this specific cited post is evidence of lazy carelessness, and not just in a small excusable way. You can call me excessively-picky on some things, but not on this one. This one is easy for anyone to be distracted by. (and yes, it is ironic that this diversion about lack of attention to detail is taking place on a thread about model-ferries, where an attention to detail is kind of important.....) And welcome back, Nick.

I have found a site that makes the models for BC Ferries the site is called www.brinkworthmodels.com Then go to looking back and click on ships and submersibles or somthing along the lines of that there pretty easy site for navigating so enjoy. Hey, thanks for the link... I actually knew Barry Brinkworth many years ago but had long since lost track of him, so I'm looking forward to getting back in touch. I spent a fair bit of time in their shop while helping Barry work on his car, probably 16-17 years ago (he did a lot of his own fabrication for his engine work), they do some incredible work (as is obvious from their pictures). And no, there's no connection to Brinks Security.

First off, I've enjoyed this site for some time, very interesting that so many are into the ships, as I've grown to be over a number of years.
I hope I'm not repeating anything here, but re model ships. I remember at expo 86 - yes old enough to remember it (older than 20 something...ha )- that someone had a r/c operational bc ferry model (V class) and the doors opened on it etc. Does anyone have any info if these are available - or had someone specialty made this?
Any info is appreciated. I btw never saw it first hand, it was on some feature (Where they showed a quick video of what was called the marine plaza....at expo); I remember the plaza and some of the ship r/c such as seaspan log barge etc...but would love to have some access to a r/c bc ferry replica!

I suggest you contact member "cadmunkey". He is in the process of building a 6-foot model of the Queen of Chilliwack. His website is www.queenofchilliwack.ca. I would guess that the model you saw was hand made, much as people have made models of Navy vessels and CPR princesses.

I have a video on VHS that shows a model of the Queen of Surrey (I) (Queen of the North). It looks just like the one shown in the following photo, or if for all I know it could be the same one. This RC model was big enough for 2 or 3 people to sit on. There was a hole cut in the keel so the leg of a small outboard engine could hang out and propell the model. One day when I improve my technical capabilities with this semi new laptop, I'll post it online. Photo copyright of DOT

Kudos to the maker for putting "Built by Flensburger" on the model.

Bring back the MV Queen of the Frogs. That was my favourite ! It was real, and really floated. Powell Lake's best ferry.

Here is my first attempt at skecthup. It isn't quite finished yet; mast and windows for car decks need to be done. I am wondering what everyone thinks of it.

How did I miss this thread for like a month... Ship-Rider 16: LOVE the Queen of Courtenay, although I would have prefered the name Queen of Comox... still, great job, perfect for the route. Canucks: Great work on the first-gen C. You actually make it look like a first-gen C fits such descriptors as good-looking and useful...

I have given up on my C class model for now as it was giving me problems, so instead I tried a Capilano model. I will put some different angles up in a bit but here is the first one.

Introducing the G class ferries! High speed super cats. Very nicely detailed! BUT, I assure you they will not be a hit with passengers (including me) unless they have a heck of a lot of outside deckspace. I've always dreamed of having the ENTIRE roof of the ferry, including Monkey's Island as outdoor public deckspace.

Your quite wrong (no offense), this design offers over double the space of the pacifcat ferries. Almost as much outdoor space as on a regular ferry. Only problem is that people cannot go in front of the ship outdoors but the sundeck has a birds eye view up front. But thanks for the nice comment!

The Queen of Lego has now been taken to new heights. That's a profile only a Lego-maniac could love.

Here are the rest of the pictures of the capilano model. Enjoy! Any requests for a model, I will try to make one if someone is interested in a specific ferry.
