Fellow forum members, As a freshman moderator, I am given the responsibility to pick July's Forum flagship. *Rubs hands together* For the month of July, I propose that you all present me your best photos of the Ferries having the expo scheme. The ship doesn't matter, as long as I see the Blue and Red Stripes, with the Green Dogwood on the funnel. Also, if it isn't too much to ask, please have them be summer-like looking photos (ie: Sunny day is most preferred). But overcast skies will be acceptable too. Just remember, it will be representing the month of July, so we don't need a photo with snow in the background. The usual rules will apply of course. Let the nominations begin!

[Edit] - 16 June 2008 - I am going to withdraw this photo so as to make room for another. I will delete it before month's end so as to make the moderator's job a little easier. Although I like the photo it does not really enphasze the Expo livery which is what Chris is looking for. I will get this rolling with a Spirit class photo from May of 1995. This was taken from the Queen of Nanaimo as the two Spirits passed behnd her in Active Pass. I really like that second photo. That would definately take my vote in the vote. I love how he put the blue and red lines at the bottom! That really emphasizes the fact that it is expo

Hmmm, I haven't had any issues with it, obviously not on my home computer, but also not on my work computer, either. I have a Mac at home and use Firefox as my browser. At work, I have a PC with Windows XP and IE as the browser. Even there, the pics show up just fine. I may have the word "Banner" in the picture title, which could be a problem on some people's computers. I'll change the name of the picture and re-load it. Let me know if that doesn't fix it.

I still can't see it but I think it is my computer because it says rejected object at the bottom left. I did see it in the index and it looks good. Thanks for trying anyways. Must be a banner thing because I can view your other pictures.

Must be a banner thing because I can view your other pictures. The problem may have been that I had the images in a folder called Banners even though the file names themselves did not have the word "Banner" in them. I have just moved them out of that folder and re-loaded the links, so try it now and let me know if that doesn't work. I want everyone to be able to see the image, and thanks for making me aware of the issue.

I have a quick question:
Are photos with the "Expo86" logo on the stack valid? I have a few photos of the QotN taken by my dad that I would like to submit, but they don't have the dogwood on the funnel.

I'd say they are valid. It's basically same colour scheme with Expo 86 on the Funnel. There's a reason we call it the Expo Scheme you Know.

I totally forgot to acknowledge the Expo 86 logos on the funnel. In case it ever comes to it, the "40th Anniversary" logos that were on the Spirits in 2000 are also accepted.

Sorry I'm not logged in, I'm getting pretty tired of fighting this battle with Firefox and ProBoards... Hmm. It seems I only uploaded this image in 640x480, so here's another try at the amazingly frustrating Photobucket... EDIT: GAAH! It's me Vs. Photobucket Vs. Proboards Vs. Firefox Vs. Windows Vista! Let's try this again for the FOURTH time today... Sorry about that mates! A moderator can delete that "Coulson not logged in" post if they feel so inclined.

O.k... two entries from me... This one has run before, but it fits the category and this is two separate entries because I used different texts and crops within the image for each one. As I said before, this was a scanned image so the extent of my editing was rather limited. Full size links will come probably sometime tomorrow once I've done some final editing, and yes I know one is actually only 799x199 pixels right now... something went screwy and I'll try and fix it. --- Undersize image removed until I can resize it... plus it makes me dizzy to look at: Want to see if sharpening will enhance image quality --- i241.photobucket.com/albums/ff290/Mill-Bay/HSB-Header1.jpg

I would keep the amount of sharpening you do to the minimum amount required to make it crisp.
