Here's a morning view at Lake Louise, on the 2nd-to-last morning of summer. It was cold and snowing lightly. The canoe fleet was resting at the dock, the Lake Louise equivalent of Eagle Harbor or Deas Dock. DSC08375 by Mike Bonkowski, on Flickr

A rainy, cold evening at the shores of Lake Louise, in Banff National Park. - evening of September 20, 2018 f/8 at ISO-64 for 3.2 seconds . by Mike Bonkowski, on Flickr As part of our "trip of a lifetime" theme, we splurged and spent a night in this fine hotel. It was elegant and full of fabulous history. I loved the experience of being there.

My recent Rocky Mountaineer trip included some add-on items, such as a night at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Here's some interior photographs from that visit: The lobby chandelier: - If I could time-travel back to that moment, I would have set my camera lower for an angle between the railing posts on the mezzanine deck, so that my photograph would include the torches that each of the Swiss ladies are holding in their hands. A dirty tripodless attempt at tonight's Super Blood Wolf Moon eclipse. Wish I had more time to get to more interesting and stable locations! Shot on Olympus EM10 Mark II with an old manual Pentax 80-200mm via dumb adapter. ISO 640, f/4.5, 1 sec.:

Actually, so is Iceland. Hope your trip was enjoyable. Iceland is on my list, too. I'll be seeing it in two years. We're doing a 3 week Scandinavia trip in 2021 which will include Iceland on the way home. It's nice having Icelandair flying to Seattle - makes Iceland an easy stopover.

Sitting back within the cozy confines of that big bird, and looking down on that barren white landscape a line of an old crooners' song came to mind. "Baby it's cold outside". Great shots along the way and it must have been comforting to see Mt. Baker pointing the direction home.

Summit Lake sunset alongside BC Highway 6. At one time the Nakusp & Slocan Railway, later CP's Kaslo Subdivision operated through here on the far shore. The tracks were removed in the 1980s. August 9, 2019. Summit Lake by Michael, on Flickr

Here is a night view of Nlak'pamux Church at Spences Bridge. This is next to Highway 1, just south of the Highway 1 bridge. I like the combination of an old structure, the stars, and arid hills and the light-trails of the passing automobiles. Oh, and the original name of the town, and current name of the First Nation, is Cook's Ferry. So this is an old river ferry site. Nlak'pamux Church by Mike Bonkowski, on Flickr

Covid-19 boredom - I visited Cypress Falls twice this week. As well as shooting stills I shot some video footage of water scenics. Great video to put on the full screen and one can almost smell the greenery and taste the fresh spray of pure water: only to realize that there is an epidemic 'war' going on not far from the idyllic peacefulness you brightened our day with.

Thank you. I went back today to find another waterfall. Now I have to find out how to upload my edit to the same URL.

Got that "kid in a candy shop" feeling when I did a random day trip to Bellingham on Tuesday. First stop was Trader Joe's, then to Lafeen's for doughnuts. Don't forget to download the app if you want to go home. 😉

I was considering this for the masthead competition, but this may be too tongue in cheek as she has spent much time of her early career with BC Ferries in drydock. What do you think?

I am using some lifesaving software from Topaz Labs. it is Photo AI. It will reduce noise, sharpen, and supersize images. So far, I have been able to fix some blurry and soft images. I took a photo shot with my Canon R, enlarging it four times the regular size, taking the image over 26,000 pixels wide while retaining most, if not all of the sharpness. The finished image was also 159 mb. It works as a standalone product as well as in Lightroom and Photoshop, and will batch process.
