I was looking at the RBI and it shows the Queen of Vancouver on route 30 begining October 14th to November 15th which is a month. She is scheduled to replace the Queen of Alberni out of Tsawwassen. So it will be her and and the Inspiration during that period.
I wil definately be doing a few trips on her while she is on route 30.

I've always liked the schedule of the old 'V' Class on Route 30, making it the closest thing we have to the old CPR BCCSS Night Boats, and which soon we also won't have around anymore. I seems from their website ( pacificcoach.com/schedules/DukePoint ) that PCL will have to similarly adjust their new Duke Point service's schedule as they don't travel exclusively aboard the Duke Point based vessel.

It seems in most cases the Qov is scheduled to do 20nin turnarounds wich is about 10 min shorter then the norm. I wonder why the quick turnarounds?
She seems to have alot of operational delays. What is classified as an operatonal delay?

Loading and unloading the QoV can sometimes be a little more challenging. Due to the hull shape and layout, there are times when commercial traffic on the MCD can only unload "1-wide" due to swing requirements. On the Spooks and Coastals and C-class, you can unload "side-by-side" for the most part, except within the first 50-80' coming off in line.
Not only that, but the modified schedule that they have on Rte-30 does not lend itself well to high traffic loads for the V-class boat. Couple that with the above loading and unloading info, and you can see why by the end of the day she tends to get behind.
True, they could have another guy down in the furnace room shovelling coal in to make more steam and run her a bit faster, but those old boiler pipes may not take the added temperature or steam pressure. Add to that the fact that they'd have to have the coal truck come and fill the coal bin more often if they did that too. Not to mention that the poor gerbils that they have running the reduction gear would need to have much shorter shifts in their respective treadmills, and more veggie oil to stop all the squeaks when the running wheel bearings started to get oval.
[/end tongue-in-cheek]
