This Saturday, I'm taking the 10:30 Coho to PA, riding Hurricane Ridge on my bike and coming back on the 5:15 Coho. Anyone who wants to come along, either for the cycling, or just the ferry trip, drop me a line. In any case, I'll post a trip report when I get back.

Damn... I wish i was still in North Van. That's a trip I have wanted to do for a long time. Take lots of pics (Mandatory), and don't forget the headlight for the tunnel (s) on the road to Hurricane Ridge. If you don't have one, the park ranger will loan you one.

Hopefully, they are finished with road construction on the Hurricane Ridge Road. That was all torn up last summer.

Oooo, Update - Looks like the Victoria Express leaves 45 minutes earlier, takes 55 minutes to cross and costs $1 less! So I'm taking the Victoria Express on the way there and the Coho on the way back. W00t!

They have hi-rez pics of the road to the top of the ridge on Google Earth. There's 3 tunnels too. The first and third are the longest. It looks like it will be an awesome ride. Olympic National Park Link Here: www.nps.gov/olym/

holey crabapple it was tough! Took 3 hrs up, 40 minutes down and I saw a bear on the way.
The Coho was lovely as usually, very well kept. It struck me how quiet the ride was, compared to the rather uncomfortable Victoria Express. The Coho is one tight ship. I will post pictures from the whole trip soon.
