BC Ferries is currently undergoing the NewBuild program to replace many of their aging ships. Which Major vessel style should they mimic, or at least 'style after' in their up and coming ships?

Your question is moot. BC Ferries newbuild program for major ship is now over, completed, finished. The next phase of newbuilds will be minor ships. It will be a long time by the time we see any more major-ship newbuilds. Although I hold out hope for Coastal- Thriller and maybe Coastal- Dangerous. I hope my suggestions of names are not off the wall, although they may be bad. It's not that I'm invincible in my names for new ship, but I have an appreciation of history of the ships.

You mean, like Evgeni? Or were you thinking more like Mario?

All new major vessels henceforth should be exactly like the Suzy-Q. That would indeed be sweet.

You mean, like Evgeni? Or were you thinking more like Mario? What? I mean just a longer, maybe wider and taller version of the Queen of Sidney

I'm more interested in seeing what they have in mind for replacing the Queens of Burnaby and Nanaimo.

I always thought that the sister of the Tswassen was the Sydney ;D. The Sidney's sister was the Tsawwassen.

Actors have absolutely nothing in common with ferries..... well.... the actor was born on the ferrry, and named after it....

A math related question to you all, what does a (2nd Gen.) C Class and a Super C make? A (2nd Gen.) Super C of course, since a positive and a negative makes a negative. It would be interesting to see what would happen if BCFS decided to make a 2nd Generation of Super Cs.

It would be interesting to see what would happen if BCFS decided to make a 2nd Generation of Super Cs. Yes, actually, it would! If they were to build 2nd gen SuC's, though they would NEED to put wrap around outside deck at the front and back of the ferries. Currently there is only the covered solarium. They should push the solarium backwards 2 metres and put deckspace in front of it, like on the S class, and on the Jalopy, the Cow, and their sisters

Jalopy = Queen of Oak Bay? Hmmmmm. The "Oaky", as I like to call her, is one of my favourites. Re: Future Major Newbuilds. I agree, Deck 5 should just simply be a full deck, with no promenade deck for new Super C's. The promenade decks are always empty when I'm down there, and I'm sure the bridge crews would appreciate it too, to reduce glare from the lights on that deck at night. Then again, since Deck 5 is always closed, what's the point of having it in the first place? Ah well, we've discussed that issue to death, and I don't mean to bring it up again.

I've ridden her several times over the past few years and had a comfortable trip.

I'm more interested in seeing what they have in mind for replacing the Queens of Burnaby and Nanaimo. IMO, they each have very different needs for their respective routes despite being sister ships. For route 9, I'd like to see something in a C-class flavour. Perhaps an 'Alberni with gallery decks, and without the upper car deck. A double-ended vessel should go a long way to alleviate the loading circus and resulting delays during peak times.

Perhaps something like WSF's Walla Walla and Spokane, only with a more protected/sheltered car deck? Walla Walla and Spokane carry 188 vehicles, a capacity similar to the Queens of Burnaby and Nanaimo, but with a layout identical to the C-Class.
