I am not self-centered. the domain was available and I registered it. I am legally allowed to do that. If you don't like the site then don't go to it, just ignore it. It's a free country you can choose to go to it or not.

It's a free country you can choose to go to it or not. It may be a free country, but most civilized people in this country have the common sense not to take someone elses name, and us it for their own benifit!!!! It would be a blessing if you would think before acting on your actions...

Mac: When you sign up for this board you get a confirmation email from the "Ferries of British Columbia." I dug up my old message and it mentions Ferries of British Columbia as the name of this message board THREE times! You registered June 7th, 2005. I'd assume you got the same email that I did when I registered Feb 7th.
When you allegedly assumed the name of this message board was the Ferry Terminal, you assumed wrong. The name of John's geocities site is the Ferry Terminal. His links on his page are merely titled "Ferry Discussion Forum." When you click the link to the page, the title is the upper-left hand text. This title of the board is also shown in the top centre of your browser window (assuming you're on a mac).

I just click the confirm link like most other people. I was previously registered (like 2003), but my account was deleted when I enter my birthday wrong.

Mac - are you a masochist? Because I for one just can't follow why you still post on this forum - when clearly members don't like your plagiarism and actions.
Do you like been beaten up verbally ? What really is your problem?
Go and do a deal with BC Ferries - pay them for the image rights and get on with your life.

I love ferries and that's why I post here, I don't have to pay for the image rights since I own my photos and copyright lawyers agre with me. Taking a photo of a ferry is not copyright infringement. I am staying on the forum and that is final.
I have not plagiarized anything and am definitely not a masochist.

Selling an image of a well know "product" is called "passing off" and is in illegal.
For example you went into a "public" Art Gallery and took a picture of a painting that is/was owned by the people - "given" to the country. You then produce a postcard of this picture and sell it. That is called passing off - you don't have written permission from the owner of the image.
Go back to your legal web site and ask the correct question and see the answer they give you.
I am sure that once BC Ferries see you doing this and making money - well like I mention in the past - look out when the solids hit the air-con.
I think Getty Images have the image rights to BC Ferries - go on and ask them...

I am not. It's legal for a photographer to sell his photos he as taken in a public place. If the photos are of people he has to get a release. Taking a photo of a ferry on the water and selling it is in my right.

You might not be able to reproduce their logo or ferry likeness for profit.

f your interested in smugmug (unlimited space 4GB/month bandwidth $29.95) get $5 off on your first year by letting me refer you will be selling as a 8x12 print Need to see if it's worth selling first so I can feature it in my for sale gallery. lso added a link to get 15% off of smugmug if you signup. Hmm that is a real stumper... et a smugmug account $24.95/year (after $5 discount on my site) f you signup with smugmug $30/yr ($5 discount on my site), the Doing a raw dump I wouldn't mind being a moderator as I am on here almost hourly. n light of the Ferry video where someone unnamed bad mouths us ferry lovers and stuff, Who do you think should be moderators? he cost would be to cover newsletter (print), meeting places, servers, etc. Members dues as in any club are to cover costs. Annual Dues cover:Access to members Hosting tours What would be a good name (not using anything trademarked or copyrighted (aka BC Ferries)? I also will be selling the print (once I decide if I should touch up the ferry or not) for $99 for 8x12 and $175 12x18. Only 4x6 prints are for sale at present and are $1.99 each for glossy or matt finish. Well I finally got the print of SOVI in Active Pass up for sale I've lowered the prices. They are now under $30 and a 20x30 is $39.95USD. Well I suggested to HarbourLynx Teen to see if HarbourLynx would sponser a forum on ViewBCFerries.com Go to photos.trevorharrison.net find the photo you want to buy I hate ProBoards it sucks How is it hard to get into? Just register, verify your e-mail address I have concerns since [proboards] is free maybe we should ban you The calendar will retail for $19.95 US use cheapest shipping my cost would be $17.50 Canadian+tax and=$2.50 profit. it is not cheap. sell the Calendars for $20 Canadian+shipping re-order the calendar for $25

the only thing I hate about this board, is that the age restriction is too high, it should allow 10 and older. Not 13 and older, too high! Why should I have to go with US Law when I am in Canada and have nothing to do with the United Mistakes Law
