There might be problems finding drydock space; I don't know if they remove the concrete ballast at Eagle Harbor or at a commercial yard, but that is likely quite a task too.

It's a bugger, I'd suspect, to get that concrete out of wherever they've got it stowed on those boats. No news about the Nisqually. I suspect there will be more media flatulence about anything they may find.

As a note of interest, in the June/July issue of SOUND CROSSING, WSF states that after sitting idle for almost 4 years, MV Nisqually was "revitalized" and "underwent an extensive revitalization" before returning to service on the Port Townsend/Keystone route. Additional information this summer indicated that MV Nisqually performed well with few problems this summer and was assigned as the #1 vessel on the route.
If this information is correct, it could be possible that MV Nisqually is in better condition than her 3 sisters were before their major overhauls and repairs. It will be interesting to see how this matter unfolds in the next few weeks.

Unless the stern tubes were replaced, don't count on it. And don't count on the stern tubes having been replaced, or WSF would've known what was in store for them.
And, as always, remember that 'best of the bunch' is relative. ;D
