Top: M/V Santa Rosa, former M/V Enetai. Bottom: Former M/V Tyee. These two former-WSF vessels have something in common: They can both be seen from Golden Gate Transit's M/V Marin on the trip back from Sausilito. These are all the details I can provide, unfortunatley, other than the fact that they are in top condition. For the rest of the hoedown on these fine boats, our panel of WSF Experts (I'm talking to you Barnacle and EvergreenFleet) will be happy to answer any of your questions.

That one ferry looks like the Tyee, but it's not the Tyee. She ended up back in Alaska under her orignal name (Glacier Express) after Auqa Express (who operated her after WSF had sold her on eBay) ceased operations.

That's a cool picture of the MV SANTA ROSA surrounded by many various vessels. Just some notes on the SANTA ROSA. Her Number Two wheelhouse is a newbuilding when she was lovingly restored. The crew quarters were hollowed out and are conference rooms complete with internal stairways to the Saloon Deck. Her Saloon Deck is now office space with public heads amidships and access to the Sun Deck. Her Main Deck is now a banquet facility with virtually all the steel outer shell work hidden by fancy walls and the decking covered by carpet. One thing that we all Steel-Electric aficionados cherish when boarding this vessel: the brass handrails that are installed on the Main Deck to Saloon Deck stairways are retained!!!

Correct on the Tyee... I don't recall where the exhaust ports were on the Tyee, but she doesn't have smokestacks at all.

The Aqua Express at Pier 55 Pier 55 Photos taken 7/14/05 ZH The Tyee had the exhaust on the stern of the hull. There is also an exterior on the top that is level with the pilothouse. Does anybody have any recent photos of her??
