Another one of my interests is aviation and I thought I would ask on here, anyone know how I could go about getting a tour of the airlines, like for example WestJet, Air Canada, ect??? I have a few other people from one of my airline groups, and we are curious if we could get airline tours?? They must do them cause I seen photos of other people who got a WestJet and Air Canada tour, just curious if anyone on here knows anything about it!

I dunno, the tour might be when the plane is underway and the tour people paid for a flight.

That´s easy - take your keyboard, write a letter - use your printer, print it out and send it to companies in question. You either do have success then or you simply will not get an answer but you can never tell yourself that you didn´t give it a try. Have done that re. ferry - companies and it worked sometimes, and writing a proper letter did though, also always help more than some hastily written e-mail. I have good memories on nice tours !

Well, not only - I have good experience with just asking nicely. Though, that way one might build up connection for "further informations and contacts" etc.

When I was a Cadet, pre-Sept 11, they used to always invite us up too the cockpit, I even sat in the pilots Seat on a 767 on the way home from Ottawa. Was pretty cool.
And when I flew by myself in uniform I got upgraded, twice! It's like a different world up there!

Thought this would be the most appropriate category (especially considering that it doesn't have to do with ferries, in the traditional sense of the word atleast)... I've been working on these shots of my trip to L.A. (more photos to follow, with updates here): www.rphotobase.com/indyinsaneP.S. The only reason that I'm uploading so much at once is that this one site, www.rphotobase.com , has been allowing fast uploads at times.

For those who are interested I know that Air Canada Technical Services in Vancouver has tours of the hanger if you ask and go in a group, however you may be surprised to find no Air Canada aircraft there but the hanger if full of Delta airlines aircraft. Still a very interesting place to visit. By the way BCF uses the hanger overhead crane to check the ferry escape shoots.

I am waiting for WestJet to call me back about a tour in Calgary. I wouldent mind seeing the Air Canada hanger in Vancouver that would be cool. Can they give you a tour when there aircrafts in the hanger??? Why woul Delta planes be in the Air Canada hanger?? I was wondering before the last time I was in Vancouver why there was two Delta planes parked by the Air Canada hanger??

ACTS has got contracts for Delta Airlines, United Airlines, Mexicana, Air Canada Jazz and the Department of Defence. Vancouver does all the work on the Delta contract which is a five year contract for part of Delta's Atlanta fleet. Now ACTS has overextended their maintenance business and has had to contract out to Singapore and Dallas to have their own Air Canada fleet serviced .
