I think back to the attitude of my late father, who innocently believed that, here in BC, we had so much land, and so much water, and so many resources to use, that we pretty much never had to worry about running out of anything. I think that attitude was pretty widely held among his generation, and sometimes passed along to mine, and that's partly what is at the root of our environmental problems.

Personally, I don't believe in Global warming, especially after this colder than normal winter that we've had. It was still cold enough yesterday that the North Shore Mountains woke up with a dusting of snow yesterday.

There is no Global warming from Greenhouse gases.......In fact, I'm gonna say it's all a lie, like Y2K.
Hmmm, the Earth was heating up way before anyone can recall, when the World was a big piece of ice. How did that melt? I don't think there was any large SUVs and Semi Trucks driving around back then......
But don't get me wrong, I'm sure the pollution has some sort of effect on the tempature, seeming its all exhaust from...if you think about it, a fire.....millions of fires...(exhaust from car engines)
But anyways, no need to get sidetracked! I like this weather, and this is all I look forward to, from the end of September until April. Get out and enjoy it, cause I sure am, even though I am working out in it on $1 million house roof....

I think that attitude was pretty widely held among his generation, and sometimes passed along to mine, and that's partly what is at the root of our environmental problems. We mustn't let history repeat itself. Ask yourselves why tactics from the 1950s are being used in the so-called " Gateway" Project. ============================================================ On another note, here are some solid facts: Climate Change Fact Sheet By 2030 the number of automobiles in the world will increase by 50%. The world consumes two barrels of oil for every barrel discovered. It took 125 years to consume the first trillion barrels of oil – the world will consume the next trillion in only 30 years. In 20 years the world will consume 40% more oil than it does today. During the last one hundred years the global temperature has warmed by an average of 0.6°C. It is predicted that global temperatures in 2100 will be 5.8°C warmer than they were in 1990. This will make the Earth warmer than it has been in 50 million years. The current pace of sea-level rise is three times the historical rate, and appears to be accelerating. Scientists estimate the sea level will rise by 19 inches by 2100, though it could rise as much as 37 inches. Much of the United States has already warmed, by as much as 4°F. None of the lower 48 states in the U.S. experienced below average temperatures in 2002. Since the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, carbon dioxide (a green house gas linked to climate change) in the atmosphere has increased by 31%. Diseases such as malaria are predicted to spread as the world grows warmer, due to the carriers of disease spreading out over a larger geographical area. Of particular concern is the stability of the West Antarctic Ice Sheet. A sudden collapse would raise sea levels 16-20 feet, though the likelihood of such a collapse before the year 2100 is low. Despite natural emissions of carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted by volcanoes, for example, human activities are now adding about 7 billion metric tons of carbon into the atmosphere every year. New energy discoveries are mainly occurring in places where resources are difficult to extract—physically, technically, economically, and politically. Oil production is in decline in 33 of the 48 largest oil producing countries,3 yet energy demand is increasing around the globe as economies grow and nations develop. Oil and gas currently provide more than half of the world’s energy supply, and according to the International Energy Agency, they—along with coal (which also releases CO2)—will continue to be the major sources of energy well into the 21st century unless things are changed. The International Energy Agency estimates that the world will need to invest $16 trillion over the next three decades to maintain and expand energy supply. Over half the world’s oil supplies lie in just 5 countries. Agriculture and biodiversity are already being impacted by global warming. 10% of all known plant species are under threat of extinction.

I suspect that anyone who still doesn't understand the reality of global warming would also avoid ferry routes which pass too close to the edge of the earth. Even George Bush, who probably believes that alchemy should be taught in schools as an alternative belief to chemistry, has had to face the facts. But, hey, there's still snow on the slopes...

...And Polar Bears drowning, as we speak, in the Arctic. In some cases, they have to swim up to 100Km to find food (this according to your mainstream media). Now, for the first time in recorded history, polar bears are resorting to cannibalism, due to their food source being so far away.

Did my part on Earth Day, was switchin' at Thornton Yard in Port Mann with Beltpack remote Control Locomotives(no Locomotive engineer). The railroad is a much more environmentally friendly form of transportation than trucks. I switched out roughly 70 cars and for every car I switched that's 2 trucks off the road.

Good work Tyler!
I sat at home and did an evironmentally-friendly activity: Posted on this board. My computer does not run on fuel, just a little bit of classic electricity, powered by some hydro station in the interior
