Who knows, where the Albion Ferries (MV Klatawa and MV Kulleet) will go once the Golden Ears Bridge is built? Will they go to BC Ferries, and add them to their fast expanding fleet? Or, wil they go to the Ministry of Transportation to assist them on one of their routes, since they were theirs in the first place?
It would be nice to see them come on over to the Dogwood Fleet, and see where and how they can serve BC's coast.

I think they'll go to BCF to relieve or replace the current K Class ferries in the fleet then the Kahloke and Klitsa will be the relief ferries for those routes

The Klatawa and Kulleet are too small to be of use anywhere, unless BC Ferries decides to replace the Mill Bay with a slightly larger ferry. I would guess they'll be surplus, especially with the re-built Burr coming into service.

At one point, the Klitsa was the same as the Klatawa and the Kulleet. So, if BCF expands them, they could be of some use, lol

The three still are the same, as far as I know, so other than Thetis/Kuper or maybe Saanich Inlet, they're not really useful, with only 24 car capacities.

They have some plans in the works to slice them and take them to 104 cars.

Why aren't they doing that with the newer, and already cut up, MV John Atlantic Burr? Which .... exactly. I don't believe that at all. That's basically building a new ship with some recycled materials. I can't imagine the same engines could be used.

Which third party might be contemplating the wholly lunatic scheme to 'slice and dice' 30+ year old ferries to a capacity of 104? To quote Han Solo: "I have a bad feeling about this".

What's the point of doing that anyway, is what I'd like to know...

Yeah what is the point. Over 100 would be a bit extreme they could strech them to hold 50 though

Wow. All these replies to a posting that sounds like complete nonsense. I mean, really. Those little barges aren't going to quadruple in size. April Fool's Day is long gone.

Indeed.
I mean, what the h#ll do they want with a couple of measly little barges that can barely cross the Strait of Georgia? What's up with that?? If this so-called "Slice and Dice" goes through, these ferries would be suitable for Fulford-Swartz, Campbell River-Quadra, Nanaimo-Gabriola, and anything that's suitable for a Century Class... lol... Maybe we can extend the waiting room a little so that we can put in a Buffet for you-know-who...

They probably aren't going to cut them up into bigger ships. But if they streched them to something like 50 cars they could put them both on a route it could work such as Quadra Island or Bowen Island or Gabriola that would equal more sailings a day and about 15 crew. on one of those Routes
