For the next week or so there will be these Navy/Military planes parked in Victoria on runway 20/02 which has been closed to allow the parking and happenings of the Navy and Military planes which will be doing excersises off the West Coast of the island. Just uploaded are these photos I took today and yesterday! community.webshots.com/album/550288935CuQtOY A unusual departure today for WestJet 90 to Calgary departing off one of the shorter runways at YYJ due to the fighter planes coming in. Interesting sights! If you an aviation fan check these out!

Good stuff, Karl! It's always nice to see airplane pics everyonce in a while.... I'm not a fan of the larger planes/jets, I'm more into the smaller Cessna's.

yeah, I am really into the airlines, and bigger planes and jets but any plane I enjoy taking photos of. We have a Cessna 172! It's awesome! I love going up flying!

The only thing I've ever been in was a float plane in Tofino. ;D

I've only got to tour planes while they're on the ground. I've walked through part of the Spruce Goose, (distant cousin to the Martin Mars water bombers), and some of the US transport planes that go out to the Abbotsford air show. Other than that, I've never actually been on a plane as it left the ground. I guess I'm just too cheap to get out there, and go for a plane ride. I can go for a plane ride at the airport just down the road from my house for $25. Sounds like a good deal to me....

My favourite plane trip was riding in a Grummon-Goose, flown by Pacific-Coastal, from Port Hardy to Rivers Inlet.
The 2nd time I did this flight, I got to sit next to the pilot.
It was a milk-run flight, and we did a few water landings, before ending up at our final destination for a land landing (dirt airstrip).

Chris: You say you've never been on a plane "as it left the ground'. Does that mean that you've somehow found your way onto a plane AFTER it left the ground? You mention the cost of flying.... I think anybody who could do that, should be allowed on for free....

Cool pictures Karl. The ones you have labelled 'F16's or F18's' actually look like F15's to me. Not to nitpick or anything.
