Coastal Skier has selected the Queen of Esquimalt to be September's Forum Flagship. As far as we know, September will mark the last regular scheduled sailings of the Queen of Esquimalt for BC Ferries as she is due to be retired in the coming months. So whether you win or not, this is a good opportunity to share some of your good photos (one's that can be cropped properly;) of the old Queen as a tribute to her many years of service on our coast.

The deadline for this flagship will be 9PM on August 30th.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what kind of pictures from over the years people have of this ship. Consider this thread as a tribute for one of the longtime workhorses of the Dogwood fleet.

Those are some great photos! Though Jim's entry makes me think the Esquimalt has some type of bad Sun-Burn. Dan's gets my vote so far. As for my pics...I haven't got a suitable photo of the Esquimalt. so I'm sitting this one out for now.

Ok, here's the first of two nominations from me. I'll be doing a trip on the Esquiamlt this afternoon with some of the members of the forum, so I'll probably send in my second nomination tonight. That pic gets my vote now. Excellent Scene. Wonder how long ago she was painted when that picture was taken.

That pic gets my vote now. Excellent Scene. Wonder how long ago she was painted when that picture was taken. Couldn't have been before April... probably a few months before that

This view is of the Q of Esquimalt from the summer of 1983, I think. The photo was taken by my brother. My current sig photo is also of the Esquimalt taken a few seconds later. I will enter one of these two 1983 pics, along with the 2003 pic above. DOT photo

Okay, these pictures are not mine. They are taken by 'Retro' aka 'Tsawwassen Terminator', or to me, Mr. GAJ. Photos both by GAJ The Esquimalt, taken on the Langdale run, just a few days ago (above), and @ Horseshoe Bay last New Year's Eve (below) . Graham may wish to make alterations...

This photo is not being entered. It can not be fit into the required 990x210 pixel format. Nevertheless, I thought that some might like to have another look at the Esquimalt the way she once was before they let the slugs loose... Whenever someone gets around to getting the vote set up. Someone might be setting it up as I type this.
With that said, the nomination process is now closed.

Duexieme entry: 'Deuxième' ('second') actually, but I only mention this as I personally like to know how to pronounce words, etc, that I am corrected about.
