WOW , that was tough! I picked number 4 as the sun is setting on Miss Esquimalt.

I picked number 4 as the sun is setting on Miss Esquimalt. I might also for the same reason; time will tell for me, can't decide yet.

I voted for #9, because of the pastel-blue, and the over-bite.
Lots of good photo's on the ballot, so well done. I enjoyed the different angles of the ship, especially re #1. I also liked the ethereal fog/cloud of #8.

I voted for #9 because of the pastel blue, and the original nose looks awesome! GREAT Photo!!!!

It looks like it's tied-up between #4 and #9. This will be a close race and down to the wire too.

And the voting is now over. It was close, but #4 wins by one vote.

Scott: can you please tell us a bit about your winning photograph:
- where the subject is
- when: month, and time of day.
- where you took it from
- any other special detail or background.
- Also, how many other photographs did you take in the "1 minute window" surrounding the winner? ie. was this 1 of 20 shots that you took in a row?
Thanks for the "art appreciation" lesson.

This photo shows the Esquimalt deadheading back to Langdale after reversing out of the Horseshoe Bay terminal. - when: month, and time of day. The photo was taken on the 29th of July while heading back from a group trip aboard the Esquimalt on Route 3, approximately around 8:20 PM... - where you took it from. # 1 end of the Queen of Coquitlam while berthed at Horseshoe Bay. - any other special detail or background. I have more photo's of her from that night on my Queen of Esquimalt Flikr page...

This photo shows the Esquimalt deadheading back to Langdale after reversing out of the Horseshoe Bay terminal. It's a great banner to have of the seemingly dying old gal, thanks for it, Scott. I had thought that my instinct was right about her being light in the water in that photo. It's too bad, to me atleast, that it's made symbolic of the lack of volume offered by the company in recent times because of the photo showing her deadheading - though it does provoke me to try to remember her in happier times.

This header looks especially good if you have your background set to the dark blue... it contrasts perfectly.
