Does anybody know why the Queen of Burnaby cancelled her afternoon trips today? There isn't any service notice on the website so far, but as of right now, She is still at Long Harbour, and the 7:20pm sailing out of Tsawwassen is listed as cancelled.

11pm to 11am since when does it take the Nor Ad 12 hours to sail from Prince Rupert to Skidegate unless they are gonna go like 10 knots, lol or due to weather! Must be an error maybe??

From the Coastal Inspiration: In-service thread... Update as of 4:10 pm:
Please be advised that the following sailings of the Coastal Renaissance have been cancelled:
3:15 pm departing Duke Point
5:45 pm departing Tsawwassen
For traffic updates or more information please call us toll free at 1-888-BCFERRY (223-3779), check our website at www.bcferries.com or go to mobile.bcferries.com on your mobile device.
We apologize for any inconvenience experienced as a result of these sailing cancellations. To update as to why...The Coastal Renaissance had her sailings cancelled as there were protrusions that would not allow her to fit properly into the berth. These were discovered when she arrived at Duke Point. I assume these were added (temporarily?) while undergoing her refit at Departure Bay. Welders were sent aboard to remove them so she can start service with the 8:15 PM sailing from Duke Point. The Coastal Inspiration has a steering issue and she'll be staying at Departure Bay until it is fixed.

How substantial a re-fit can be dona at Departure Bay?
What will happen when the CR is in service and the CI has to be replaced like this?

How substantial a re-fit can be dona at Departure Bay? They could theoretically do anything here except work that would require drydocking. What will happen when the CR is in service and the CI has to be replaced like this? Right now, nothing.

She left that night and did the morning run out of LH (old news) with some mechanical difficulties. Perhaps more today...

It's a gusty morning out there for the northern Gulf Island routes. The following sailings are currently holding at dock and cancelling round trips:
Queen of Burnaby - Comox - Powell River North Island Princess - Texada Island - Powell River Tenaka - Quadra Island - Cortes Island
The Powell River Queen cancelled sailings earlier this morning but has resumed operations at 9am.
At 9am, winds at Powell River were gusting over 100km/h.

Many radio stations were quickly reporting that the SBC was delayed by a medical emergency. The SOVI has had a delay of 49 minutes probably due to weather, www.bcferries.com/bcfservicenotice?id=352335
The same for the Cowichan and Surrey and many other routes.

The Queen of Burnaby has been held up in Comox for the last 2 days now due to high winds. If there was any time I'd wish they could Un-Retire the QPR, now would be it. [/b]
Note: This Service Notice applies to the following route(s): - Comox (Little River) - Powell River (Westview)
Updated as of 3:50 pm:
Please be advised that as a result of ongoing weather delays, the Queen of Burnaby is cancelling the remaining scheduled sailings for this evening. Instead it will wait for a break in the weather and depart Comox as soon as possible, travelling in shuttle mode for the remainder of the evening.

Please be advised that traffic is currently very heavy at both terminals and it is suggested to use alternate routes if possible.
Further updates will be provided as they become available.
