I like this new feature! It basically shows you all the threads, with the last-updated one showing first! Just in case it's not showing for everyone, I attached a little screenshot of it... I must ask though: How come it doesn't match our forum's skins? Attachments:

New Topics is a new option available to the forum. So new that we do not have a forum specific icon for it yet.
I will be putting up a temporary skin for our menu icons while we come up with a permanent design for that particular menu.

I like that new skin! more modern, I think. I have to say, I wouldn't mind just keeping it like that! Just for historical record, I've screenshotted this skin too, just in case it's not kept. Attachments:

I like that new skin! more modern, I think. I have to say, I wouldn't mind just keeping it like that! Creating all those buttons with that solid coloured skin only took me about ten minutes. It isn't a rush to change it, but I know we can do better than that graphically...

Well maybe sometime in the future, create a 'simplistic' skin, without all the fancy graphics and stuff. It's not that I don't appreciate it, it's just that I like seeing changes sometimes, for example, I've already changed my skin 4 times while I've been here, but I must say, I prefer 'WCF Dark' the most....
By the way, is there any difference between the skins 'Blue and White' and "Original Pastel Blue"?

By the way, is there any difference between the skins 'Blue and White' and "Original Pastel Blue"? "Blue and White" is the forum's original default using darker blue colours, while the "Original Pastel Blue" is meant as a tribute to the first livery seen on the ferries from 1960 until about 1985-86.

The colours look the same. Maybe we should lighten the colours on the Pastel Blue scheme a little bit, IMHO...

Snazzy, Scott! Good job. As a naysayer though, I must protest the new font used though. I believe that there's something about it that looks slightly childish. I think it's the slight shadow beneath the writing. Overall though, I like it more than the old (not yesterdays, but the day before yesterdays) menus! EDIT: after I zoomed the page in a bunch, I think it's actually a blurred effect on the words, not a shadow.

Perfect The forum should start an advisory committee of all the forum staff, plus about 10 to 15 of the forum's regulars, and whoever's on it would have access to a 'forum advisory' board, and before these kinds of things happen, the forum advisory group would discuss it, the same way that happens in City councils across the globe. Forum-wide issues could be discussed as well as other types of things like forum development and the like... The advisory community could help design new skins, help with reorganization of things from time to time, and some of the more senior members of the advisory panel could fill in for a mod while they're away on long trips. I see the advisory group having slightly higher power than basic members, like ability to do some of the very minor moderator jobs. Nothing like deleting threads or banning people, just the smaller stuff. I'm not asking to be on such a committee, i'm just wondering if maybe it would be good to start one. Just a suggestion....

I don't really like the way that the wave is aligned in this one. I think there should be a wave specifically designed for that size space if that's what you're going to choose as the final design. Attachments:

I will respectfully decline the lofty position of a member of a forum advisory committee, if I can be so forward as to presume I would be considered anyway . When you deal with clients who can quibble about whether to use PMS300C or PMS301C (Pantone Matching System colours of blue) for hours on end, the prospect of being involved in that for a hobby gives me a case of hives. In the case of a client I can even get paid sometimes for the associated migraine. I am usually only interested in such issues that may come up, if it makes the forum less user friendly, more complex, or hampers catching up on a once a day or so basis. Speed and ease of use are my two main criteria. Instead I will reserve the right to gladly offer my opinion whether requested, or unsolicited and sometimes even when not wanted. Oh, and whether serious or silly. ;D

I believe I will do a head-count tomorrow if nobody else does before then I'm not sure that this is worth the effort. I don't think there's support for the advisory-committee idea. As for me, I don't think it's necessary. I'm happy with status-quo.
