Here are some shots from Langdale over the last few weeks. All Photos are © CS16 Photography and may only be used with Permission from the Owner. We haven't seen any pictures of the new floating structure at Langdale so here are some shots of it. I decided to Facebook-search Mr. Chase Campbell of Sechelt to see what the fine citizen looks like. - It was pretty much as I expected. Thankfully no innocent workers were hurt. A vehicle in the hands of a drunk idiot is a dangerous thing. really dangerous. I'd love to see Chase Campbell banned from BC Ferries. He could have killed someone with that stunt.

No kidding with the facebook shot. If I was an artist, and you asked me to draw a picture of the kind of moron who would do such a thing... that's just about exactly what I'd come up with.

That is going to be missed opportunity by BC Ferries because it will allow a berth to go down without effecting the service that much.

Here's a trip video from Horseshoe Bay to Langdale on Queen of Coquitlam, and then the drive up to Gibsons and ending with lovely Davis Bay in Sechelt.
The arrival at and drive through the Langdale terminal is the reason for posting this here.

I have sailed this route throughout my life and I remember the vessels from 1988 onwards.
Can anyone tell me the name(s) of the vessel(s) that sailed this route from 1977 to 1982? Childhood memories.
Thank you.

Thank you. A quick google search of “sunshine coast ferry history” brought me to this, hope it helps www.sunshinecoastmuseum.ca/marine-transportation.html

Thank you. The schedules I have for that period don't generally state which ships were on the Langdale route. However, the summer of '83 has two round trips by the ' Alberni, and the summer of '84 saw only eight daily round trips with a forty minute crossing time, so I'm assuming that would also have been the ' Alberni. I have an information package from the BC Ferries traffic statistics department for 1978, and it lists the three ships that would have served Langdale that year as the ' Burnaby, ' New Westminster, and ' Nanaimo... obviously not all three at the same time.

This arrangement remained in place until the Surrey and Oak Bay joined the fleet.

Quite possible either Burnaby or Nanaimo subbed for the New Westminster during refit. The second ship on route 3 during this period was the Tsawwassen.

from BCF 3/14 1652
"Issued at 4:52 pm:
Please be advised that the Queen of Coquitlam will resume service with the 3:15 pm departure from Langdale and is currently 80 minutes delayed. Due to the ongoing berth issues at Langdale, vehicle traffic is only able to be unloaded on the main vehicle deck. As a result, some reserved customers may not be able to be accommodated and will have their reservations refunded."
Can't catch a break at Langdale this week it seems. They're ticketing for the 2255 at Horseshoe Bay right now and the route is definitely congested...

With coming new major vessels coming in 2029, I wonder if berth 1 at Langdale will get upper car ramp due none new major vessel having articulating ramp between car decks?
