While I was listening to Hahn discussing the three fired crew from the Queen of the North on Global today, I noticed something interesting in the background. There appeared to be a picture (obviously Photoshopped) with the entire fleet in a "V" formation somewhere in what appeared to be the Gulf Islands. Has anyone ever seen that picture? I'd sure like to get my hands on one of those.

Photoshopped?? I believe it's a painting. When I was working with my dad installing blinds we worked in the BC Ferries head office a lot. They had that painting behind the front desk.

Yeah it is a painting. I have that painting. It's a neat one!
Does it say
BC Ferries, Your Friendship Fleet??? If it does then that is the one I have!

I saw it during an interview with Hahn when the Findings into the sinking were released. As soon as I saw how it looks I immidiatly knew that it was the poster of all the ferries at Swartz Bay. That got me to wondering, where the heck can I get one of those?

Yes it was available on board.. I bought it at a gift shop on board a ferry. I doubt it's available anymore. It's from the old BC Ferries era - I got mine at least 10 years ago.

I had that poster at one point and clearly remember the silhouettes on the bottom left. It got lost in one of the moves or who knows what. Thanks for posting a digital version.

Cool stuff you got there.
The C class on the last poster has a very different look. The forward lounge on the alberni appears to be very curved.

Try contacting BCFS PR department. They may still have some. I know one guy made a painting using the poster for a model.

I'm not sure how I never noticed this thread. I have one. I am sure we could make colour reproductions.

Excuse the dirt, it was in a shed for quite literally 10 years until about three weeks ago. Had the privilege of sitting next to lawn mowers, week wackers, etc...

Oh my word... I have a particular memory of that poster...
I saw one in a gift shop once on one of the ships on a school field trip to Victoria... this is probably when i was in grade 6, so we are talking in the neighborhood of twelve years ago. I tried everything I could think of to get my mom to buy it for me, even saying some rather regrettable things--selfish child that I was back then.
For better, or for worse, I never actually got the poster so now, seeing it once again, I'm not sure whether to love it, or despise it for bringing back memories of what a troll i was as a kid. On the same trip, though, I soon forgot about the poster because the return sailing was aboard a V. Not sure which one, but the first time I actually remember being on one. Some kids in our class got in a shoving match with kids from another school group, so we all got exiled to the upper aft lounge. But in the gift shop, we managed to secure a Robert Turner book on the Kettle Valley Railway, which I think now means a lot more to me than that poster.

I would kill for that poster I'll pay for the making of a glossy colour copy of that poster!! Would we be able to get a discount if we get a bunch made?

If you watch for specials you can get full size colour reproductions at a reduced price per piece. The first quantity break can be at 5 or 10 copies. Staples, the UPS and FEDEx stores now all compete, along with local versions. The most expensive but longest term is to have it scanned and saved to a large capacity thumb drive or disk. Then you will have an electronic copy as well.

put me down on the unofficial/official "I want one of these"; My dad had one - and long story short, I'm not sure of its current status. I didn't realize that they had been avail for sale - back in the day - in the gift shop; I thought they were some kind of internal giveaway. I would pay to get a colour repro - within reason but market rates would be fine - and serv charge for someone's time Whoever is keen on this, can get me one - eventhough no one here has officially met me (we can get those details figured out) - then let me know with private message please. Thanks BTW I just re-read this, and if grammar is a tad weak, it's cuz I'm bagged right now; I was even gonna try one more trip on the Van today, but not gonna happen - I might fall asleep there only to be wakened by the ships horn...lol
